Anyone else “awake” here?

Maybe not the place to post but thought it might be interesting to find out if there is an awake component to MN.

I’m not here for judgement or criticism, just want to find more of my own.

Yeah well, I've been vaccinated and I suffer from ingrowing toenails. All of the people I know with ingrowing toenails were vaccinated too.

OMG.

That’s just crass.

Have you never noticed that we get colder and wetter weather when people put lights up and decorate trees? Why some people in the world still continue to suffer through droughts when they could simply decorate a Christmas tree and fix it immediately is beyond me.

What a load of old bollocks this thread is.

Frequency · 07/03/2026 01:08

My 19-year-old just wandered in to make her nightly Pot Noodle. She spends a lot of time on TikTok, so I asked her to translate for us oldies.

Red Pill = "pathetic little boys who still live with their mum and spend 99% of their time browsing 4Chan and Reddit."

Awake = "the opposite of woke."

That’s just crass.

And you don’t believe that your uninformed and ludicrous comments about a neurodevelopmental condition of which you clearly don’t even understand the basic diagnostic criteria are “crass”?

charlatanne · 07/03/2026 01:11

CrazyGoatLady · 07/03/2026 01:03

Right, so you don't think you're superior but think you're "awake", so others who don't believe what you believe are therefore "asleep"?

Not sure how exactly that doesn't convey a sense of superiority?

I’m not superior. If I thought I was I wouldn’t bother asking questions. My friend’s little girl is amazing and I dislike the way she’s described as ‘disabled’ just because she behaves a certain way. She doesn’t fit into mainstream school but she’s intelligent and has a lot to offer.

I agree. There’s no way to know if your own research is any more valid than someone else’s. Which is mainly my point.

Well, except that other people with umpteen letters after their name have studied a specific topic in a university research laboratory for years, drawn their conclusions from their research and written scientific peer-reviewed papers about it... and you haven't.

Hilarious that these losers define themselves as “awake” while disparaging what they call “woke” without, apparently, understanding the connection between the two words. Presumably someone “awake” must have woken at some point, unless they’ve never slept at all? I suppose that would go some way towards explaining the delirium.

BerryTwister · 07/03/2026 01:14

charlatanne · 07/03/2026 01:01

@BerryTwisterit’s just a known term to describe people who are questioning such things. No superiority intended.

@charlatanne it’s not a known term. It’s a word that has been coined by conspiracy theorists to make themselves sound more alert and aware than everyone else. It’s rude and dismissive, which is ironic, given that your lot claim to be so open minded and accepting.

There’s a smug arrogance that conspiracy theorists exude, believing themselves to be better than the “sheeple” around them. They pat themselves on the back for their special insight, and seek out other cult members to share their smugness.

Hence you trying to find other “awake” people.

No I find it fascinating that people can think the way you do, so I’ll sit around and watch for a bit if that’s ok.

Edited

And if their academic life is captured by what they can and can’t research and can and can’t publish, I wouldn’t trust it. Fine though if you disagree with me.

Sad times when you have to explain basic maths about fractions/ percentages that most YR2 children could grasp to adults, huh?

You mean you actually 'believed' all that stuff they fed you at school about maths and fractions and percentages and all that? 😂😂

charlatanne · 07/03/2026 01:18

Who is in control of your life and your world? Is it you?

Yes. I am constrained by my lack of money and Netflix addiction, but ultimately, I am also in control of that.

If I were in control of the entire world and not just my life, I would make people sit an IQ test before allowing them internet access.

The drinking water is being poisoned. Now you know.

charlatanne · 07/03/2026 01:28

The funny thing is I’m probably considered “awake lite” by my friends who are all handing out the Light paper. I’m not political or extreme. I’m just living my life the way I want and if you don’t agree with me I really don’t care, but if you do HELLO 🩷

I don’t dare who laughs at this btw. Go ahead. I’m just asking questions. If we can’t do that, we’re fucked.

I think Covid changed a lot of things for a lot of people.
If it was so easy to catch, and so dangerous, why was our government having parties?

If governments and renowned global organisations (WHO) lied about that, how truthful have they been about other things?

DoNotEvenThinkIt · 07/03/2026 01:30

I think i get it, OP.

The unwavering belief and acceptance that some have because they were given facts by the government etc. Our because they are just commonly held.

I wouldn't say I necessarily believe any particularly controversial alternative viewpoints but I'm certainly able to critically evaluate certain things. I don't accept things just because a man in a suit told me it was true. I've always thought that men in suits are the ones you need to be most wary of.
