A couple of bits that strike me, this from a logic point of view:

So if you already destroyed it, why this?

This from a human point of view:

"Finally, to the great, proud people of Iran, I say tonight that the hour of your freedom is at hand. Stay sheltered. Don't leave your home. It's very dangerous outside. Bombs will be dropping everywhere. When we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours to take. This will be, probably, your only chance for generations."

Yeah, stay inside while we bomb your buildings.

And this :

"May God bless the brave men and women of America's Armed Forces. May God bless the United States of America. May God bless you all. Thank you.""

Why not invoke Gods help for the people in Iran ? Bringing your brand of Christian God into it while bombing a theocratic state might not be a good idea.

I wonder at the effectiveness.

Bombing is a bit like the "AI" of warfare. Massively overhyped and rarely delivering on it's promises. Especially against a country prepared for it.

The Blitz did nothing strategically or tactically for the Nazis, and for all the ordnance dropped on Germany, a lot of boots on the ground were needed to achieve the surrender.

And Vietnam had both, but the US lost.

How is the oil price ?

If Iran shuts down the Strait of Hormuz I expect Trumps VZ oil will go up in value ?

That congress won't step in to end this absolute shit show under the 'leadership' of a demented, addled, narcissistic tv host and his cabal of toadies, morons and psychopaths is beyond me.

It’s 75 years (last week) since my home city was heavily bombed by the Luftwaffe. 230 civilians were killed and the city centre destroyed but the targeted docks and steel works were pretty much left intact.

Bombing Britain was a tactical and strategic mistake for the genius Hitler.

It annoyed the natives. Did very little damage to the British war effort (which we should remember was worldwide). And most disastrously it initially delayed his Soviet invasion and then forced him to launch it under prepared and having lost a lot of aircraft and crew in the process.

And given there is no US strategy around Iran - or indeed anything else - beyond filling POTUS boots, this will not end well. Yes, you will kill a lot of innocent civilians. But defeat Iran ? I don't think so.
