I think Fuentes' reaction is probably typical: they become ever more furious at everyone who isn't themselves as they frantically pursue the mirage over the next horizon, and the next...

They don't stop and reflect that this dose of snake oil didn't get them what they wanted, so the next dose probably won't either.

A stroppy "truth" about the Iranian womans football team in Australia, then a full reversal after a call from Albo to describe the real actual truth.

Or they say "and this time we're also drafting women" and a substantial part of the American male population (or at least the MAGA influencers) are too busy gloating that "equal rights, equal fights" and posting memes of feminists crying to notice it's a bad thing for them too.
I'm not saying that's what will happen. It's what I would do if I wanted to trick American men into accepting something bad, and I bet it would work on at least some of the male Trump voters.

I can easily imagine MAGAnauts forming posses to round up liberal snowflakes and force them to fill up

I can also see Trump appearing next to his Tesla saying how bigly it is it doesn't use gas now the price is rising.

Admittedly the reason I can see these things is because I know what "AI" is capable of.😀

And then there's a Goosebumps book "Night of the Living Dummy". Made DS1 keep that in the bookcase and read it in his room when he was a kid.

It's weird the way certain things seem to 'spark' fear in us for no discernible reason.

There was a cartoon show in my childhood with a ventriloquist host who had 2 different dummies. Never bothered me as a child. But as an adult? Just no.
