Is anyone else done with Vinted?

I have been a seller for 2.5 years on Vinted, mainly used it for clearing out before I take the charity shop and use the funds to buy things I need in future.
Happy buyers, 5* reviews, I've bought items some fab, some haven't been great but it is what it is.
The past 4ish months it's gone down the pan.
Complete change in sizing which has caused my items listed no be incorrect. Great that you have more opportunity for buyers as they have partnered in USA but which takes forever to get the money due to shipping (you can't turn this option off) and buyers being very fussy, even though you are practically a jumble sale.
I like to sell on Vinted as it's a great way to declutter but it's literally becoming so much more stress than it's worth now.

Enshittification hits everything eventually, especially online.

Can't use Facebook at all any more. Just a stream of absolute shite.

Catwoman8 · 01/02/2026 15:27

I have continued to use it to sell stuff, but I haven't bought anything since the size changes. It is just too time consuming to find what I want in the right size now.

bunnybunnybunnybunny · 01/02/2026 15:31

Am both a buyer and (private) seller. Immediately after the changes, I did notice a few months when it was horribly quiet and difficult to find things, but at the same time, haven't really been looking to buy anything anyway. Since mid-December, all has been ok and have found what I want easily. January as been great in terms of sales - a little under 1k. With regards to the sizing options, my things did not seem to be effected and I did not have to adjust sizes. Additionally, have always clearly stated sizing and measurements in my listings, as well as clear photos of the size labels.

I have no idea Vinted was now open to buyers/sellers overseas, all my buyers are UK only. I haven't had to change any of the settings to ensure this.

Edited to add that when I read threads like this about Vinted, I often feel like I am using a completely different platform. Have had little to no issues with buyers, nor with items I have purchased 😶

Isabella40 · 01/02/2026 15:34

I was frustrated last week someone bought a pair of trousers I have had advertised for ages. When I went to get the label saw the size said 22-24 which was odd. I had put size 16 even had a photo saying this. Had to check with the lady as I was confused with this. Luckily she didn’t want them so I cancelled her order. Then went through my listing to find other sizes were different.

latetothefisting · 31/01/2026 11:18

try being a 10-12 dependent on different brands - the only option is to click 8-10 AND 12-14 so you have to wade through 4 different (and the most common!) sizes. Plus half the sellers still haven't worked out that vinted has changed so don't even put the size anywhere in the description.

I agree OP, I've withdrawn my money from my balance and deleted the app for now.

Their customer service is rubbish too.

This is what I wanted to say.

Plus i wish sellers would also put the length in the title. When I do find a pair of trousers in my size, I sometimes find they are long or short from the photo of the label.

I still use it quite heavily. I don't like the sizing change as I'm a 10-12.

I've been selling a lot lately and I just wish people would drag their arses to the lockers rather than expect a home delivery as post offices round here are few and far between yet there's lockers everywhere.
Can you set preferences with this?

Yes I think you must be able to because I bought something just now where the only choice was a locker.
I've no idea how this works or how I know it will be at the locker so it's a bit of a learning curve for buyers too.

RaininSummer · 01/02/2026 15:38

As a buyer I'm not enjoying it any more whereas I loved it before the changes.

LavenderBlue19 · 01/02/2026 15:38

I'm fine with it, still using it regularly to buy and sell. I've made about £80 since Christmas, just listing a few dresses and kids clothes.

The sizing change was annoying - especially as an 18-20 I have to trawl through two sets - but realistically people often listed sizes wrong anyway. I don't understand why people don't take photos of the labels! If you search by new you come up with all the new stuff that's listed in the right sizes. People do try it on with silly others but I just counter with the price I want and ignore them.

I used to use eBay a lot in the early days, but the site is full of Chinese drop-shipped crap now, I can't be bothered with it.

nOlives · 01/02/2026 15:45

ebay was lovely for about 3 years, then it got taken over by businesses selling new stuff.
And etsy - no, that's not handmade and certainly not by you.
I wish these places would decide on an ethos and stick to it.
I also liked amazon when it was for books... Why can't there be a "don't include" search term, and why oh why do they allow descriptions that are just a list of every type of clothing and fibre?
With all that on my chest I never got around to trying vinted. 🤐

PangaBanga · 01/02/2026 15:52

I've used Vinted a lot for buying in just over a year. Being able to get nice stuff that was relatively easy to filter for and cheaper than new was a huge plus, and made it worth putting up with timewasting by the occasional flakey seller.

The new sizing is a total pita and I seem to be encountering more sellers who are a faff to deal with.

I sacked off ebay because of a few encounters with scammers and people selling items that turned out to be seconds and so badly cut they were unwearable, and once a pair of shoes that were falling apart.

I don't particularly want to go back to ebay but Vinted isn't as good as it used to be.

Ewock · 01/02/2026 15:54

We're giving up with Vinted as well. We sell and buy. I was selling my ds football shirt he doesn't want anymore. Vinted messaged me to say they banned my account for breaking rules. After messaging back and forth I still dont know what I did.
I said it was a used top, all the other items clothing and toys sold without an issue.

plsdontlookatme · 01/02/2026 16:08

Generally have had good experiences although this may be due to the fact that I don't take risks on anything I can't afford to bin if it's no good. Am pissed off at the minute as I ordered a book and got sent a completely different one. Seller isn't bothering to facilitate a return, but given that the return shipping (which apparently I would have to pay for if they deigned to get back to me with their address!) would cost more than I paid for the item I will have to write it off and leave them a 1* for being a pain in the arse.

plsdontlookatme · 01/02/2026 16:14

I don't mind giving measurements - and find it annoying when people refuse ("comes up small" - okay, how small?) but my pet peeves are:

  • people listing things they "only wore once or twice" as brand new.
  • people making "offers" of £24.50, down from £25 (real example)
  • people selling empty boxes (for toys etc) and making the listing as misleading as possible so that people will buy in the mistaken belief that they're getting the item.
  • people being tight. If I've listed it for £2 why the fuck do you need to try and haggle me down to £1!? Your time is worth more than that, and so is mine.
  • people making me go to the bloody Evri parcelshop because they can't/won't use InPost lockers (I appreciate that some people don't have one in their area but I just don't have time to go to the newsagent's in the next village for the sake of a fiver).
  • people hassling you via message if you favourite their item. "Hi hunni I can ship today if you're interested" "Hi are you still interested". Shhh!

ParlezVousMangeTout · 31/01/2026 11:13

I used to use eBay about 20 years ago but was so much hassle to list anything with all the postage options but recently I’ve started using it again instead of Vinted. Now it’s much easier and you get a QR code to post via Evri etc. Like a PP mentioned it’s also much easier to search on eBay when buying.

Vinted buyers protection fee is WORTHLESS. You can buy something which is significantly not as described and if the seller agrees to take it back then you have to pay the postage! On low value items it’s just not worth it. At least with eBay the seller must take responsibility for it being not as described and PayPal will give you some protection. Vinted attitude to every dispute is “sort it out between you”.

Also buyers are ridiculous. I was selling a bandau bikini for £2. I was asked if it had much support. My answer was I have very small boobs I don’t know what size other people’s boobs are so can’t say if it’s supportive. I was asked by another person if I could take photos with it on and will I accept £1.50. At that point I got so annoyed I delisted it and binned it.

I block anyone who is annoying rather than deleting my listing.
There are some weird individuals but I would say 80/20 positive.

Frenchcremefraiche · 01/02/2026 16:21

I dont buy anything from there anymore. Only 50% of the items that turn up are as described. If it was cheap, I'd would maybe take that chance but I dont find the bargains that people rave about either!

More hassle than it's worth to buy.

I've got a carrier bag of stuff to list on there and then I think I'm done.

Frenchcremefraiche · 01/02/2026 16:25

Although I might have been an annoying buyer last week.

Someone had an item listed for £40. I offered £30 (which was fair but I thought they'd counter offer £35). They declined. I offered £35. They declined. I accidently offered £35 again. They blocked me. I wanted that item too! I would gave waited for them to drop ot though as it wasn't worth £40.

WhatNext2026 · 01/02/2026 16:30

Yep. Fed up of Vinted. I've had a 'near new' men's Fatface jumper with holes on the armscye and a horrible experience with a buyer trying to say I'd worn and damaged a dress that I hadn't even tried on. When you feel you have to video yourself inspecting and opening a parcel and going over the clothes, it's just not worth it. I'd prefer Ebay or a charity shop.
Also the sizing nonsense is off putting.

But it’s largely the same sellers on both platforms. I don’t really get what people are saying, sure there is some who do one or the other, but many many of them do both,

AngryLikeHades · 01/02/2026 16:40

If there are issues like this, I'm glad I bought a fuckload of stuff beforehand.
I have had problems with Vinted, but they were relatively minor, however I have been sent dirty and stained and overly worn mis-described items, but it hasn't been often considering the amount of items I've bought.
Returns are difficult, but I have at times won the case and got my money back.

TheGoddessAthena · 01/02/2026 16:41

I am a very occasional seller on Vinted and a slightly more frequent buyer. I cannot get on at all with the new sizing. I want to look at size 14 dresses. Not size 12s and size 14s. And not all the size 8s which were never reclassified when the sizing changed.

I want to be able to exclude brands from my search as I wouldn't wear shitty Shein even second hand. Or Amazon/Temu. But I can't do that, I would have to go through the mahoosive list of brands ticking every single one.

You can limit it, but I think vinted can over ride it. Be cautious though, I work full time, it’s a 30 min round trip for me to get to a locker, not including time to pick it up and assuming no traffic, most work days it’s not an option for me.

the result is when I see limited options, for example I won’t buy from anyone who only allows Evri or lockers, I move on. Only once have I been so tempted I messaged the seller and asked and she said yes and changed the options. Otherwise I’d have moved on and not bought. I won’t use Evri as they are so so bad and I can’t be arsed dealing with delayed and lost parcels.

im a good buyer as said. I buy higher end items, in new or very good condition and I often pay asking or close to, I’m really just deciding if it’s a fair price. So by limiting if I was your target market, I’d decline to buy from you, and just move on and you’d not know why I viewed and didn’t offer.

Sorry for a silly question, I’m very new to Vinted, primarily as a seller to declutter.

What do you meant by Vinted changing sizes? Is it US vs UK?

The options used to be S(8) M(10) L(12) and so on. Now it's S(8-10) M(12-14) and so on

ChocolateHobbit · 01/02/2026 16:56

@Rumpledandcrumpled @ContentedAlpaca I've just found the option to change it actually. Didn't realise you could. You're right though I should keep the Royal mail option as I may be less likely to sell, I just wish more people had the lockers nearby as selfishly I've got so many near me and they're so much easier than dealing with our busy local post office with grumpy staff!
