I'll go first. I'm hoping to get some nice ideas 🙂that I wouldn't think of myself as my brain is tired of working out what were all going to eat every day 🙄

Today we had (per person):

1 large protein wrap with sliced, seasoned fillet steak, cooked rare (150g), 200g sliced and fried mushrooms and 80g fried onions and 40g grated red Leicester and cheddar cheese with garlic mayo.

It was delicious and very filling 😋

Also what's the oddest thing you've made with leftovers?

Last week, to save it from going to waste, I ended up eating diced cooked carrots and boiled potatoes mixed together with some salad cream and diced, pickled gherkins. Sounds weird but tasted okay 😂

I usually have a salad for my evening meal these days. I find it easier on my digestion than a cooked meal.
Today it contained a mixture of 4 types of lettuce; cucumber; tomatoes; baby sweetcorn; radishes; olives; alfalfa sprouts; sprouted lentils; red onion slices; black olives; a mixture of 7 different seeds; about 40 grams of Emmental cheese and a simple dressing of extra virgin olive oil and apple cider vinegar.

Tonight will be a freezer special. Veggie, almost vegan, DD home...

Frozen oven fries, quarter pounder beefburgers (and vegan equivalent), peas, green beans, roasted tomato halves and beer battered onion rings (tesco or waitrose as I know they are vegan). With loads of ketchup.
Got a family funeral tomorrow, so can't be arsed with being "good"

DataColour · 30/01/2026 11:50

Last night was a one pot "Persian style" chicken and rice recipe. I also made a very basic dhal to go with it.
Tonight, no idea but DD requested salt and pepper chips from the chippie, so might have that with fish from the chippy or fried eggs and peas.

mindutopia · 30/01/2026 11:59

Last night was spiced baked paneer, with dal (from freezer) on wraps with spinach, salady bits, some fermented veg, yoghurt, boiled eggs.

Tonight is pork chops with mushroom and thyme cream sauce, wedges, roasted carrots and peas.

Yes i did! It was tasty. And I put some of the juices over the potatoes and parsnips while they roasted.

Sminty2 · 30/01/2026 19:18

Mushroom risotto, topped with a whole punnet of mixed wild & exotic mushrooms, Parmesan and parsley.

Very therapeutic to stand & stir.

I just started making duck gravy as well. It's a bit tricky with all the fat, but game changer!!!!

I love this thread! I had chicken and butternut squash curry, made with one jar of tikka masala curry sauce, spices, passata and spinach.

Duck ragu… googles…

Pennyplant19 · 30/01/2026 20:28

Packet of beetroot, picked at husbands chips, and some skyr yogurt. CBA tonight 😂

ProfessorLeveretGrey · 30/01/2026 20:33

Dcs had leftover spagetti bolognese. I had a pint of lager while cooking it then couldn't be arsed anymore. (I did go out for lunch though and had sausages and mash).

Tomorrow i am making chicken schnitzel baguettes with lettuce, dill cucumber mustard mayo and tomato slices with french fries. I'm already looking forward to it.

I don’t cook proper meals anymore. Too expensive and all I do is think about food.

Bowl of mixed salad and fresh salmon (half a Aldi essentials pack). I did also have a packet of lentil crisps and I’m drinking wine.

cherrymauve · 30/01/2026 20:35

Spaghetti with creamy crab and chilli. It was delicious. We had a bar of chocolate for pudding!

HUNGRY4MORE · 31/01/2026 17:54

We've got mixed leftovers from the last week tonight as I've had surgery and have to rest so soup and chicken stuffed with mozzarella and wrapped in bacon, served with wedges.

Tomorrow is likely to be homemade Marry Me chicken and rice from the freezer which I froze in September laser year.

It works well with orange juice spashed over or an oil/vinegar dressing.

blizymitzy · 31/01/2026 18:12

Tonight we are having cous cous, roasted vegetables and halloumi with sweet chilli sauce and some crispy chilli oil.

FurForksSake · 31/01/2026 18:19

Tonight we are having a massive kfc. Awaiting the rider now. Proper excited.

CombatBarbie · 31/01/2026 18:47

Phili cheese steak wraps (kit from aldi) but added cooked mushrooms and onions along with the pepper and used the last of the spinach leaves in the wraps too.
