A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙🩵

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Angela Rayner has pledged her 'full support' to Keir Starmer as she joined the Cabinet in rallying around the Prime Minister following a call from the Scottish Labour leader to resign.
Ms Rayner, Keir Starmer's former housing secretary and ex-Labour deputy leader, said the party needed to learn from the Peter Mandelson scandal but urged MPs not to 'play politics and factional games'.
Her intervention came as Cabinet ministers rallied around the Prime Minister after Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar said his leadership was 'not good enough'.

Is this as reliable as Starmer’s full support in Mandelson and McSweeney?

Upstartled · 09/02/2026 16:07

I'm beginning to think 'Full Support' is the trigger for a Labour Party drinking game.

Streeting and Rayner have enough MPs behind them apparently, whether they go for it is another issue.

Neither can, yet I don't think.

Rayner has the HMRC issue hanging over her. Streeting regarded Mandleson as a mentor. Though Streeting has said he is going to publish all his WhatsApp messages between him and Mandleson. So I wonder if he is cleaning house in preparation for later this year.

One can only hope so….

I wonder if Eluned Morgan will follow suit? Crikey, its all going on.

She'll do as she's told. Is the leader in name only.

Moving away from any possible resignation for a minute

You know how you hear people talking about how foreign agitators want to stabilise Britain

Are we important enough to be targeted for that sort of thing? For example, haven't we become a matter of irrelevance to China and Russia?

I probably missed something. I feel as if we used to be a big player globally, but I don't think we are now. I don't quite know when we stopped being one. Or maybe I'm hopelessly out of touch and we still are.

maybe very important high-level spy things still happen here! obviously, no one keeps me in the loop about that 😂

Would recommend listening to today’s TRIP Leading with the former head of GCHQ. He says the UK is still very important, especially to the US despite what they may try and say.

I see bbc reckons Starmer is going to survive this, for now!

I see bbc reckons Starmer is going to survive this, for now! Unsurprised Scottish Labour are gunning for him given the defeat they’re about to realise.

Are they still blaming the 'right wing press'? Comms? Or is Starmer being held to account for handing a tob job to the best friend of a convicted paedophile?

Right wing press and everyone not Labour is a bot.

Jesus, the bot accusation is tired at this point!

Upstartled · 09/02/2026 18:20

Oh, yes, being called a bot by brand new posters with an axe to grind. It's like the run up to the general elections all over again.

Starmer obviously getting his moment again on here. Roll on local, regional and by elections I guess..

They’ll fade away again

Female Labour MP tonight on Channel 4 News tonight. When asked about Starmer, she is following the usual party line and going on about Labour being anti violence against women and girls. Let’s all muddy the waters and talk about something no one can possible object to rather than discuss what is really happening with Starmer, who is barely hanging by a thread. The Labour Party, our elected government, are deaf to the reality of what is happening in front of our very eyes. Self preservation is all that counts. Blame the media, blame the bots, blame everyone but our own incompetence…
and don’t forget to mention how well we are doing on child poverty, btw.
