I’m in tears and shock at the brutality happening in broad daylight in the US. I’m a US citizen, emigrated to the UK for family reasons 12 years ago (now dual citizen), and I am just in disbelief at what’s happening. I was sick when I learned of Trump’s first election and gravely disappointed by the second one. But the sheer brutality of what’s happening in MN right now has really thrown me. I have friends and family there, in Chicago (where ICE raids were occurring in the autumn), in NY, and in California. I’m hearing that even worse things are happening in the Deep South but fewer observers and press to report on it. Posting here because I feel so lost.

And we're heading towards Nigel Farage as prime minister. It's unfathomable.

Sadly I’m not at all surprised that this happened today. After the peaceful protest which happened yesterday along with the hideous disgusting comments Trump has made over the last few days and being called out on it by multiple world leaders. I almost begin to wonder ….

I know. I have wondered this. I think it is just noise to add confusion. You have committed MAGA’s on one side and then as a direct opposite you have people are are anti MAGA. But there is likely a cohort in the middle who don’t have an alignment.

This denying what happened just adds confusion. Like the stuff about Good being a bad mother or the excuses that the elderly man taken in sub zero temps in his underwear was harbouring a sex criminal.

I mean none of it matters. Warrants weren’t got, due process/procedure wasn’t followed…and if that’s not happening then nobody is safe from the lawless actions of this armed group.

But all the denials and misinformation just add confusion and make it seem like a more complicated situation than it is.

I absolutely don’t doubt that he wants civil unrest. Never thought I’d be alive to see the sun setting on the American Empire.

I think deep down you’re aware that you’re describing yourself and not us. One single atom that’s aware of the depravities that you’re excusing, that’s horrified by it and and can only go on the offensive.

You know what? I still hope that what Trump is doing to people is never done to you or any of your loved ones. Because that’s what having a shred of humanity looks like.
