What did you eat today?
I love reading what people have (and getting new ideas/recipes).
My new year new habit is to have a side of veg with each meal (and eat it first).

Breakfast - Sourdough toast with soft cheese & bagel seasoning, side of cucumber/tomatoes,

Snack - Crisps

Lunch - Stovies with beetroot (traditional in my part of Scotland)

Snack - Christmas choc (trying to get through this)

Teatime snack - Bowl of homemade lentil & veg soup, a couple of crackers

Dinner - I am going to a pub quiz so will have a wee something to eat from their bar bites menu!

I had a banana
A Cornish pasty
A few quality streets
Then a Turkey curry with rice, naan bread, a samosa and a bhaji with some mango chutney.

FunnyCrabDance · 02/01/2026 19:42

B - greek yog, raspberries, blueberries, mixed seeds
L - cheese and pickle sandwich, apple, 3 x after eights
D - marry me chicken, smashed new pots, broccoli (plus 2 chocolate digestives while cooking!)
May have grapes later

ReignOfError · 02/01/2026 19:44

Slice of homemade panettone toast and butter

Cheese, biscuits, some chopped raw veg, and homemade chutneys, ice cream topped with a spoonful of homemade apple butter

A mushroom omelette, and some mixed veg
My last satsuma.

I may shortly have some pigs-in-blankets flavour crisps.

Breakfast: omelette with red pepper and onion

Lunch: “Fridge soup” - all leftover veggies from the last 10 days into a pot and blended with chilli and herbs

Dinner: Making a recipe from my Christmas present cookbook RecipeTin Eats (beef teriyaki) but am swapping rice for udon noodles as my husband is “riced out”, whatever the fuck that means.

Three packets of Strawberry & Cream protein porridge with a fistful of dried sultanas and cranberries and semi skimmed milk

One lunch box sized packet of dried prunes

One lunchbox size packet of apricots

One Natural chocolate and nut bar

One Mars Cookies Dough bar

Half a packet of Sainsbury's Pilau Rice

Half a packet of Merchants Gourmet Lentils

Half a jar of Lee Kum Kee Satay Sauce

Christ, I read 'lunchbox sized' as 'the size of an average lunchbox' at first. Thought you'd basically eaten enough prunes and apricots to act as a laxative for an elephant 😆

tobermoryisthebestwomble · 02/01/2026 19:46

B. A slice of seeded bread toasted with peanut butter and some blueberries. Coffee
S. Latte
L. Pea and mint soup (half a tub of the fresh one), a few crackers and a chunk of cheese with some chutney
D. Wholewheat tacos with refried beans, tomato and corn salsa and garlic mayo. This was a Gousto recipe, with a chorizo crumb, but I don't eat meat
About to have a glass of white wine

Literally wishing the Christmas foods would do one. There's several packs of biscuits, loads of cheese and crackers, loads of chocolate and a box of mince pies. If its still here on Monday I'm taking it all to work.

Berlinlover · 02/01/2026 19:47

blueskiesandsun · 02/01/2026 19:52

Breakfast - Two slices sourdough toasted, one with strawberry jam and one with peanut butter. A small banana.

Lunch - Chicken ramen noodles with spring onion and sesame seeds in chicken broth.

Snacks - Chocolate coins and Quality Street. Olives. Cocktail sausages.

Dinner - Sea bass with herb butter, with boiled new potatoes and carrots. A small bowl of blueberry wheats with oat milk.

Day punctuated by many many hot drinks (alternating tea and decaf tea, plus a mug of miso soup). Feeling chilly today for some reason despite heating on.

whatwasthatnoise · 02/01/2026 19:55

B. Crunchy nut cornflakes with milk, 2 cups of tea.
L. Seeded oatcakes with some blue cheese, a slice of ham, yoghurt, 2 kiwi, pear, can of Pepsi Max.
D. Pizza with chorizo. Another can of Pepsi Max.

Drinks. 2 more cups of tea, mug of hot squash, pint of cold squash. Probably another cup of tea before bed.
Snacks: packet of crisps, 2 little cakes, 2 handfuls of dry roasted nuts. There's one slice of pavlova that I'm loathed to throw out so I'll eat that shortly...
Day 1 of Dry January for me so at least I'm saving calories from not having wine.

Greenwriter76 · 02/01/2026 19:55
