All very sad especially at Christmas.

There are lots of funny ' blind items' about them calling the paparazzi on themselves

And no proof whatsoever that apart from one affair he’s ever had another one.

You might like to read Tom Bowers book which remains unchallenged

V&D aren’t very bright. Football and singing are talents but they’re not indicative of intelligence as such. They probably just assumed they would pay for a fancy education and it would all be fine as they have connections.

I think Victoria is bright,
Whilst she was in the spice Girls, she didn't do much if any of the signing, she was in there purely becsuse of the posh spice persona
David was a hugely talented footballer
But without Victoria marketing them as Brand Beckham I think he would have either now living a very comfortable life in relative obscurity
Or he might have gone the Gary Linekar, and Gary Neville and be a sports commentator..

IAmKerplunk · 23/12/2025 14:05

I think they have failed Brooklyn. Both of them worked very hard to achieve what they did (whether you think they were talented or not) but their dc seem to be growing up needing to be in the public eye - not 1 of their 4dc wants to or has done a normal career?

I agree with Ricky Gervais (from his stand up) once you achieve a certain wealth then either you raise ‘little Hampstead cunts’ or they hate you for not passing the wealth on immediately and therefore have no desire to fight and work hard enough to achieve what their parents did.

It’s a tale as old as time.

I always think it must be wonderful to be a young person from a wealthy background like theirs. Imagine being able to head off to university without any financial worries. No need for part time work. To be able to enjoy and concentrate on your course and do unpaid internships or volunteering related to your field of study. That’s the type of thing I’d love for my DC so I can’t get my head around people like the Beckhams who can offer their children very opportunity but yet parade them in front of the media.

He - TB - alludes though re: a roving eye re: DB not active affairs (?) NB: Brooklyn trying to create a distraction at Glastonbury re: aristo model so DB didn’t pursue (?) Having said that I think it’s ‘proven’ re: Essex beautician & Spanish (?) model at party with Rebecca L.

These are all decades ago though (?)

Even with an enormous amount of wealth not everyone has the academic ability to get into university.

Agree. As a PP said they are not ‘bright’ but find it odd VB, who got rid of tats & wants to be seen as upper middle class, recent elocution evolution, etc wasn’t more culturally ambitious for kids? Seems Robbie W is with his.

Is that good for them though? My ds1 received a decent inheritance when he turned 18 so never got a job until he left uni. I’m not sure that was the best thing for him. His gf has worked since 16 (as has my dd) and I would say it has done so much more for them and my ds now regrets not working when he was younger.

Even Chris Martin says his daughter has a Saturday job working in a shop because kids have to know to work for money.

What has Brooklyn’s wife done as a job? As in a proper job. Even if I won the Euromillions tomorrow I wouldn’t just hand my dc a bunch of cash and tell them they didn’t need a job.

I’d argue, If you put the hours in at a school like Harpers, even very weak A levels will get you to a Uni if you want to go. With application & likely extra tutoring it’d be unusual not to get entry level facilitating quals.

Didn’t Brooklyn have a stint in a coffee shop? NP an actress.

The projected public image may not be the same behind closed doors.

Exactly - no one cuts contact without a very good reason.

In the past there’s been pictures of quite a young Brooklyn supporting his mum at events whilst rumours swirled about David’s (alleged) infidelity.

I wonder if he was parentified too young, would have heard the rumours, known the truth and realised it’s all just for show and ‘Brand Beckham’. Add in a disrupted education both here, in Europe and the States plus the pressure of not having his dad’s talents (nor his mum’s) and everything being on social media for consumption and criticism. Maybe bullying at school because of who his parents are or the rumours or just because he was privileged.

Can’t have been easy despite all the amazing things he experienced that only the wealthy can afford. Happiness can’t be bought.

Then there was his failed photography book - surely his parents must have known it wasn’t good, but encouraged rather than stopped him, trying to make him ‘something’.

I feel sorry for him and hope he’s found long-term stability and happiness with Nicola and her family.

Maybe she might just scrape into a low ranking university, with tuition and hard work but where's the prestige in that?

Rocco Ritchie might be bucking that trend. Some of Oliver & Ramsay kids too (?)

How many famous offspring do you know who have decided to become doctors/builders/teachers/lecturers/ psychologists/ nurses/ bankers?

There will be some - but the difference is their parents will have kept them out of the public eye. Those in the public eye seldom do ‘normal’ jobs

Even now you can see it with content creators who showcase their dc - the dc will grow up doing the same. Or they will rebel at being exploited from a young age and they will either disappear from public view and get a ‘normal’ job or they will decide to become content creators themselves.

I think it’s clear that VB and DB adore their dc but they became very famous in a different time to now when there was no precedent set with the whole ‘brand’ thing and they were probably very ill advised. I dont know 🤷🏽‍♀️

I would still like to know even one job that Brooklyn’s wife has had

I’d be advocating for the healthy experience and normality of it all. Prestige irrelevant & some low ranking Unis have social cachet if that’s important. Some of the USA private Unis might work esp if sporty.

Hmm for how long? Long enough for photo opportunities?
Even actresses normally have other jobs whilst trying to ‘make it’ because decent parents want to instill
a work ethic. What has she been in?

I think the problem might be, as much as the exposure, picking up on what the parents genuinely & privately prize above everything else. This then plays out on a world stage.
