TRUMP: Ukraine has made some very strong attacks also. I don't say that negatively. There have been explosions in various parts of Russia. I don't think it came from the Congo. I don't think it came from the USA.

I had it on and didn't even last through Zelinskyy's opening remarks. Scrotus next to him gurning was more than I could take. He simply cannot stand not being center stage.

Besides although I believe Zelinskyy is sincere in wanting peace, nothing is going to be presented to him will be acceptable, either to him or the Ukrainian people.

Exercise in futility comes to mind, but I get that he has to 'keep up appearances' to avoid Putin and 'Mrs Putin' pointing fingers and shouting "See! He doesn't want to end this war!".

Only just caught up with the Trump Zelenskyy meeting. This seems like an accurate summary.

There is no sign that Trump is prepared to impose anything at all on Putin. He continues to give the impression that he merely tolerates the beleaguered Zelenskyy while remaining fascinated by the autocrat in the Kremlin. This was again in evidence during the weekend meeting with Zelenskyy: not a single US official met the Ukrainian president off the plane in Miami, in stark contrast to the red carpet and personal greeting from Trump that Putin was afforded in Alaska in the summer. It was also notable that Trump called Putin – a call that took place on Trump’s initiative, the Kremlin claimed – just before meeting Zelenskyy.

I wouldn't think it would be any different than ordering the bombing of the port at Tilbury. It's the US ordering an attack on the port of a sovereign nation without direct provocation.

IF it happened at all. I don't think there's been any independent corroboration. All the reporting I see are prefaced with "Trump says" as opposed to official statements by the State and Defense Departments.

After allowing US military access to airports, and radar installations in Tobago, the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago is now keen to disassociate the country from the strike on a Venezuelan dock. Which seems a bit late, to me.🤔

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has made it clear that Trinidad and Tobago is not part of any military operations against Venezuela and is directing all questions about what appears to be the United States’ first strike on Venezuelan soil to the US Embassy.

“Any questions regarding this are best directed to the US Embassy. Trinidad and Tobago is NOT a participant in any military operations within Venezuelan territory,” Persad-Bissessar told Guardian Media via WhatsApp yesterday.

She was responding to questions related to international news reports yesterday, which quoted US President Donald Trump as saying the US had “hit” a dock facility along a shore in Venezuela, as he continued to wage his pressure campaign against the Nicolás Maduro regime.

This was on CNN this morning, sounds like still no 'official' confirmation? But I suppose if it was the CIA then it was probably supposed to remain 'secret' (as secret as a drone attack can be) to permit 'plausible deniability'. If so, they're probably pretty pissed that Scrotus let the cat out of the bag. But what else could possibly be expected?

I just hope that when a Democrat gets in (I say when, not 'if', too depressing to think otherwise).. they put back the WH to how it was. Paving over the Rose Garden like a MarLago swimming pool patio was bad enough.
