Don Snoreleone trying to stay awake long enough to bring all his racist dreams to fruition. So when can we bring about his personal "civilisational erasure”?

This is scariest warning

''The midterms typically fire the starting gun for the next presidential election, consigning the incumbent to lame duck status. It is not a position that Trump – who continues to drop dark hints about running for an unconstitutional third term – is likely to relish.

Charlie Sykes, a conservative author and broadcaster, said: “With Donald Trump, ‘lame duck’ may just be another word for nothing left to lose. He will still have vast, unchecked powers, which he’s already made clear that he will exercise in the rawest, most reckless way possible''.

Very scary.

Hopefully with a Blue Wave in the midterms a great deal of his lunacy will be checked. A huge problem now is that he is overstepping/sidestepping Congress and because both Houses have a GOP majority they aren't doing anything about it. If there is a Dem majority I expect we'll see blocked legislation and actual legislative pushback on Scrotus' overreaching his authority.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if a (third) impeachment doesn't happen. Shoot, the papers are probably already prepped and locked in a filing cabinet somewhere, ready to be 'actioned' in the HoR.

For any non US citizen on here thinking of visiting Trumplandia - Just saw this on another thread so hope the OP doesn't mind that I've C&P it here.

Buyer Beware...

ESTA warning:
I've just posted this on another thread - we had our Esta approved over a month before travel, then 3 days before we flew out to USA we got an email to say 'Esta has been updated please check your Esta online'
My husband's had been revoked. It was too late to get a visa appointment (average 86 days) so we lost our holiday.
I tried the contact number in Washington, we were told the Esta can be revoked ANYTIME during the 2 years as they are 'always investigating'. They would not confirm why it was revoked.
We had no problem travelling to USA a couple of years ago, our previous ESTAS were fine.
We don't have the usual social media (oldies) so don't spout about politics online.
The only thing we can come up with is that DH has contacts on his LinkedIn account from a 'banned country'. So I assume they do a search under our names with key words or countries.
Now DH hasn't messaged or contacted these old colleagues and rarely used LinkedIn but obviously we have now de-activated his account.
We won't be going to USA again. He will be on the 'have you ever had an ESTA revoked' list. It's not worth the hassle.
...
Also to add original ESTA approved beginning of November, then revoked 5th December.
Just glad I spotted the email so we didn't travel all that way then be sent back home by border patrol.

I am bemused by people still wanting to travel to the USA for a holiday at the moment. I certainly wouldn't unless I had to. And if I were visiting relations I'd leave it until there was a saner government if I could.

pointythings · 27/12/2025 15:40

I won't go near the US right now. Nor will my DC, and they're citizens. Am flying to Canada next September and will be booking a route that avoids the US, whatever it costs.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 27/12/2025 15:51

Thank you for that copy/paste about ESTAs, @Spandauer.The main thing that irks me is that they will waste money on the admin for doing background searches on LinkedIn (and the rest) but won't spend on the health, education and poverty (to name but a few social/infrastructure needs) affecting their own citizens. They are objectionable, the lowest of the low.

Efacsen · 27/12/2025 16:49

@Spandauer fortunately that poster and her DH didn't lose any money and were able to book another holiday - it wasn't clear last time I looked at the thread if it would be a loss covered by travel insurance - probably not

We won't be visiting family in the states - they of course are welcome to come here until this nonsense stops

Tourism has already fallen by 10-20% in some areas so more US livelihoods at risk - and goodness knows what will happen to the World cup travellers who are spending huge amounts of money for tickets, travel and accomodation - tickets are x3 cost of the last WC

I will be leaving it, but our American relatives don’t get as much leave as we do for them to travel. I also have one relative that cannot travel, not in very bad health now, but I’m worried that time may come.

When my DB became a US citizen, he accepted he'd not be here when our parents passed. He was right.

I have family on the West Coast living on long term Green Cards
scared to come and visit sick parents
in case they are not allowed back home

DB was rather "encouraged" to become a citizen due to his work ... his employer didn't want him leaving the US and not being able to get back in (this was 20 years ago).

That was why I used to be able to recite the US constitution by rote - mainly to annoy him. Meanwhile he's rented a Tesla while over here to annoy me 😆

Joke's on him; he gets a lousy car which spies on his every move. Silly boy.

I never said he was the brightest in the family, despite his D. Phil.

Last year, we all had to hear about the route he had planned to get back to London via the fast chargers.

But families, family. It'll be good to meet and catch up. Especially now our DP have passed.

If true, well done that student, honestly. If not true, still funny.

AcrossthePond55 · 28/12/2025 14:29

After a quick glance at her Threads posts, I think it's not true.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 28/12/2025 14:36

Maybe someone will try it because of her "example" and get out of debt.

AcrossthePond55 · 28/12/2025 14:56

Well if they do, I'd hope they won't be stupid enough to blat out all over the internet that they have, in fact, committed fraud. Not that I care if a bunch of MAGAts are stupid enough to be taken in by a load of crock.

But as I say, I think she's full of shit.

probably would have been better for the Trump administration to buy this domain name before one of the writers of South Park did tbh.
