The only thing he's done for Ukraine is betray them at every turn. He's thrown Western democratic values to the back burner, and is desperately trying to imitate his hero Putin.

Where did you get the info that the ship was sending oil to Russia from?

From what I’ve seen it was part of a shadow fleet moving oil between Venezuela and Iran.

Is this the general consensus? I only saw Starmer give credit to Trump amd people saying he should get the Noble Peace Prize so would be good to see the overall view

The details are going to really matter with this one, so I think I'll wait to hear the full story.

I think interpreting what Trump has done re Ukraine as 'getting Ukraine and Russia talking' is, put very kindly, a reach.

I think it's at least as reasonable as all the other claims about all the other wars he has allegedly stopped.

This one at least has actually been a war, rather than not having been one ever in the first place because he was unable to remember the names of the countries he thought were involved and simply gave the wrong ones.

@surreygirly I'm another person wanting a link to the claim that the tanker was taking oil to Russia. My understanding is that Russia is an exporter of oil.

In all the comments online on the legality of seizing control of the tanker, I was struck by this question:
If the Trump administration did it on the grounds that it was transporting sanctioned oil, why was the same not done with tankers transporting sanctioned Russian oil?

So we really need to find out the grounds under which the tanker was seized. If it was the tanker and not its cargo that was the subject of the warrant, does the US have to return the oil to Venezuela?

Mark Rutte telling us all to prepare for war because Trumplethinskin is betraying us (my words not his!) At this point life is so much worse than a parody.

Lately, everyday I thank God that I don't have any grandchildren. We have messed up in choosing our leaders and we've learned nothing from history.
