A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

He’s nasty and a fool, trying to insult. As usual just making people loathe him more.

Yep showing his true colours again. Vile man.

No idea what he meant by Kemi being Home Alone for xmas? She has a family. 🤷‍♂️
I'm sure that was lovely to hear by those members of the public who will be alone for xmas though. Well done Starmer.

There must be so few left who enjoy his attempt at insult. Everyone else will just cement dislike. Maybe he’s forgotten how low support is atm

whataguddle · 18/12/2025 09:18

I saw PMQ's and he did indeed say to Sarah Potchin she would be dreaming of a white Christmas as she had commented previously that there are not enough white people in tv ads or words to that effect.

Unbelievable that a PM would stoop to that kind of nasty jibe...but nothing surprises me they are beyond belief all of them. The are on the ropes as everything they touch turns to shit so they've nothing left but to go on the attack at Reform who have left them standing in the polls.

Yep, agree.
As you say, for a PM to stoop to that level shows just how unfit for office he is.

There’s a reason he’s the least popular PM. People can’t stand him. Bar a dwindling few on here.

I suspect he's very nasty and you'd not want him as a neighbour. Equally, he doesn't appear to be the sharpest knife in the drawer, and 100+ hours of community service might have been more a more appropriate punishment.

Unpleasant rather than "hurty" words without a doubt, but theft and criminal damage, which really impact on people's lives, seem to attract lesser suspended sentences.

Oh I genuinely thought you were talking about Starmer there for a moment. 'You would not want him as a neighbour'.

Starmer is a ghastly little twerp.

A small man destined to become a small footnote in history.

He’s fooling nobody.

Ah, I see. So just defaulting to typical Labour MO. They really are the Nasty Party.

I think the Home Alone reference is about MPs leaving the Conservatives for Reform, supposedly leaving only Badenoch (Which is why the juxtaposition seemed so shocking). Bit desperate of him when Conservatives are starting to overtake Labour in the polls...

TheNuthatch · 18/12/2025 09:36

CambridgeSingers · 18/12/2025 08:58

Think he’s just saying reform are racists who want the uk to be white.

and in other news - Rachel trashing experts? I’m shocked..

Rachel Reeves ‘trashing experts’ after rejecting oil tax report

Reeves has got some nerve turning up there hasn't she? More front than Blackpool as my Gran would say.

think it was an attempt to match Kemi’s rhetoric but the jokes just fell a bit flat didn’t they - I’m dreaming of a white Christmas, which clearly refers to snow is a seasonal top of the charts classlc…

Fortunately, and given the damage Labour have already inflicted on the building sector, as well as on demand itself, it’s reasonable to ask how much impact this latest policy brain fart, will have on actual building?

Very little, is my guess.

Just spotted this from yesterday, sorry I'm behind.
Yeah you're right. Good piece in The Times backing up your point here. Builders aren't building.

Just caught the end of it but Karl Turner Labour backbencher with strong words on why not to scrap jury trials. Recognises Labour are ‘already unpopular, don’t make us more unpopular’. Good on him

Loved that.

I am half expecting him to leap over and grab Kemi at some point, when his mask slips.

She is scoring some real humdingers.

It's really sad. Given the UK's desperate economic situation, they need to start allowing exploration for new fields again, and drop the windfall tax so that we don't lose a sector which could both benefit the economy and increase our energy security. Win-win.

It was the Conservatives who brought in the windfall tax, but the situation has changed. That's why we have a government: to respond sensibly to changing situations. Government id not meant to be about revolution and bringing Utopia: it's about managing the country effectively - within an ever-changing world - to keep it working well for the citizens. But not this lot. By the time Labour are out, those plants will be closed, the opportunity lost, and the UK permanently impoverished. Again.

I really do feel very despondent about the UK's future. And it's so unnecessary - we've got world-class foundations as a country, and we could have a great future if we just stopped relentlessly destroying our country.

This fucking fucking 'government'. Bridget P 'does not believe' the figures of pupils leaving the independent sector. Reeves does not believe the job loss figures.

Stupid, fucking morons.

Yes, I'm on the same page.
I was furious when the conservatives caved in to the pressure from Labour to introduce a windfall tax. They should have stood firm.

Well their timing would be impeccable.

The Brent front month is trading at below USD 60/bbl and I will not buy it there.

Labour have zero commercial acumen.

Is she and the Government really that stupid ! Regarding, jobs for young people in areas such as Hospitality. Did she ever have a job in a Pub when 'growing' up like many teenagers did, regardless of whether the Parents needed the money. Thus, if she did not it shows how incredibly out of touch with the 'worth' of young People to a company. This, regarding what Wages they receive, but more importantly the structural benefit to the young person concerned by the skills acquired which included interpersonal skills. Reeves cannot grasp the 'monetary' value of a young person, to a business is limited, but the skills acquired by the young from 'Part time' jobs are immeasurable. Reeves and Raynor cannot grasp that ridiculous new employment law makes employing youngsters untenable. They, cannot be doing this though genuine stupidity surely. There, has got to be a 'Method to the Madness' for all this and their other Society destroying policies !

Parsley4321 · 18/12/2025 11:41

Thanks @TheNuthatch it’s going to be good to just take time to think this Christmas. This government is just killing every growth aspiration - re the civil service still having pre employment checks being done 9 months later two enhanced dbs done and no start date this is the government

Prometheus78 · 18/12/2025 12:34

That’s why we froze rail fares and prescription charges, and will be cutting 150 from the average energy bill next year.
Reeves

Oh do FRO, Reeves - the above is meaningless when the economy is stagnating, unemployment is rising, SME’s are going under, and people are genuinely worried about their finances.

You complete and utter moron.

Meanwhile gilt yields are spiking - 10 year up 0.65%
