Thanks for the new thread.

Loving all the Welsh even though I have no idea what it means (except the title!)

No tax as of yet but I’m about to embark on a 3 hour trip further north so may have some later!

Efacsen · 29/11/2025 07:50

Thanks for the new thread @DuncinToffee

PandoraSocks · 29/11/2025 08:28

Bore da! Diolch to Duncin for the new thread.

I am a tax avoider usually, but this time I have some arsehole tax. This was parked in a disabled bay, no blue badge on display. Luckily there was another space free, but any disabled person who came along after us would be out of luck because of this selfish idiot.

Diolch yn fawr for the new thread @DuncinToffee, I lived in Wales for over 11 years as a child, yesterday we were near Conwy for a funeral and I enjoyed singing Calon Lan in Welsh. I only have a little spoken Welsh now, but my grammar school had a stream for pupils with Welsh as their first language and it was a compulsory O Level subject. We had alternate weeks of Welsh and English assemblies so I still remember some hymns.

Sadly I have to tell you that DH had very bad news about his health yesterday morning and we have more scans and tests this week. It is not curable, but depending on the results this week it may be something he can live with for a time. I may be around less than usual, but will still keep up when I can.

Tax of Conwy Castle the last time we visited as it was dark last night when we came home.

Thank you all 💐

@Saucery that’s good to hear and things do seem to be moving quickly

ilovesooty · 29/11/2025 10:10

Apparently the number of ex prisoners serving 12+ month sentences gaining employment on release has more than doubled since Labour came to power and appointed James Timpson.

That's the sort of news that should be getting through.

In some quarters it will be alleged that those figures are fixed because nothing this government does could ever be positive.

DanDin · 29/11/2025 10:18

@cardibach , ei is its or his/her, e (or o in the Gogledd) is short for ef.

e,g, Ei syniad ef oedd 6 7. 6 7 was his idea
(Word for word it's 'His idea him was 6 7'.)
