A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

We are bracing for the budget 😬

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Did anyone capture what happens re the pensions of Brits abroad?

EasternStandard · 26/11/2025 14:35

The comments are all positive for Kemi on IG 🙌

The only heart on Starmer’s post is from UKLabour 😂 the rest scathing.

No, sorry. I missed anything to do with that.

Boohoo76 · 26/11/2025 14:36

Kemi was fab. I’m glad I voted for her as my MP.

On a personal level, this was not as bad as I feared. I thought we were going to get completely screwed over on council tax which, after the school VAT, would put a significant strain on our finances. However, I appreciate it’s still shit for a lot of people. And Labour are a joke for ending the two child benefit cap.

I bet. They must be bitter as anything over Kemi’s speech.

Well, Kemi was right, watching Reeves playing the victim as a cover for her fiscal incompetence is pathetic.

Yep. It’s a tiny pool left backing Labour. Everyone is applauding Kemi.

Thanks for replying though. Smile It keeps my question bumped on such a fast moving thread for others to see. I'll go and see if I can rootle it out in the commentary somewhere.

That's sort of what I am thinking for ourselves anyway.... although I think we get clobbered a couple of different times on property taxes that will sort of add onto each other.

Anyone that couldn’t watch it, I’d make time to watch Kemis full speech on iPlayer later. FFW Reeves obv. KB speech best I’ve heard in HoC for a while.

Agree. Calling out the "mansplaining" was done perfectly!

carrythecan · 26/11/2025 13:58

Kemi is killing it! If she could actually pull the Tory party together, with substance behind her talk, they might have a chance at the next election.

Agree. Luckily was able to find GB News radio on DAB in the car as really couldn’t bear to hear the sanctimonious Sheila on LBC.
Kemi did a good job.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 26/11/2025 14:59

Kemi did great.

Cutting enough, she's discovered her inner mean girl, as someone said.

Mind you, Rachel Reeves gave her some great material to work with.

EasternStandard · 26/11/2025 15:03

Times Radio is brilliant on the analysis. Not looking good for Labour.

Catatemyhomework · 26/11/2025 15:31

I hate to say it, but I do feel a tiny bit sorry for Rachel as she must be so terrified of her back benchers.it must be a horrible place to be. She sounded jittery to me, like she was falling over her words a bit. I bet she didn't sleep a wink last night!

Probably shaking with rage that the OBR published the budget before she even began.

Catatemyhomework · 26/11/2025 15:35

We pretty much knew the contents of the budget even before the OBR blunder. There's been enough leaks. Nothing came as a bolt out of the blue.

The best thing about today is seeing how universally hated Labour are. If you excuse the welfare and state dependent heavy MN cohort. Even then, it’s only a handful that are still supporting them. They are finished 👏🏻

I hope so. Media seem to think so.
