Some personal thoughts
Does anyone mix in a circle that's very left-wing? I don't talk about politics but one reason I don't talk about it is that the people I know are very left-wing
Going back into the history, almost everyone I know is new to me because I basically lost everyone through lockdown or getting married and having kids (them, not me) I dare say older people will skew more to the right but that's not guaranteed.
A lot of things have caused me to lose confidence over the years, but it occurred to me today that that is probably one of them - never being surrounded by like-minded people is a bit odd. It's particularly odd considering the constituency I'm in, but again it probably is an age thing and probably people on the right are more likely to stay quiet about it.
I was also wondering whether it's worth joining a couple of political organisations. I have been so disillusioned with politics generally, for a long time, that it just seems like throwing away money really.
But it's not that much, and it might be a route to meeting more like-minded people. I don't know really.
I think someone on here mentioned going to a Spectator gathering post budget. That might be the sort of thing that would be good for me, but I'd have to be asked enough to drag said arse into central London!
I find it really hard to tell what the vibe actually is. I mean, Labour had such a massive majority.
agree with the poster who liked the Deputy Speaker. I haven't seen her before.
