A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

We are bracing for the budget 😬

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

It's Ed Davey's approval that's the biggest mystery for me.
Just how? Why? Who approves of him?

TheNuthatch · 26/11/2025 11:54

Good morning.

I managed to successfully avoid all media this morning. Much needed.

Thanks for keeping an eye on the threads @CaveMum.

I know 1 point does not mean any significant movement and is within 2% probability as I am a avid 'amateur' Psephologist. However, I cannot believe that Labour can be polling above 15% given trends. I do not trust You Guv results either because they are obviously out of kilter with the other Pollsters. Secondly I consider there must be a number of people who are telling pollsters Labour when asked due to historical contexts.

Watching sky news now and wishing I had gone to London to march with the farmers.

Me too. My son joined them briefly - he wanted to stay longer but he’s v busy at work.

redange · 26/11/2025 11:55

Given the lunacy of Ed Davey, Rosie Cooper the Deputy Leader looks and sounds as if she should be leader of the Liberal Democrats.

TheNuthatch · 26/11/2025 11:58

OBR have 'accidentally' published all their reports before the budget has been announced. Wtf.

Hi everyone. Hopefully you’ll help dull the pain of today’s budget. I can’t bear it but I’m going to watch anyway. Even though the sight of them all makes me feel sick.
Already thousands per year down, expecting to be more.

All this idiotic government is going to do is push people to be more right wing and reform voting. Fucking idiots

AlexandraBee · 26/11/2025 12:00

Can’t drink so I’m ordering chocolate and crisps from deliveroo

Yes to drive down yields.

It worked and then didnt.

we are more or less flat intraday atm.

Reeves has increased her fiscal headroom to 22bn.

TheNuthatch · 26/11/2025 12:02

Basically the budget has already been published! Never seen anything like it.

Will they bother with PMQs now, or just get the Chancellor to deliver her speech?

The OBR report has been published in error. A leak. I am amazed and so are the political pundits too ( am watching bbc at the moment )
Lifting the two child benefit cut is political suicide. I haven’t any skin in the game myself , but it is just wrong.

Bizarre. I’m out and not listening. If that’s been confirmed it is political suicide.

Watching the news, they are already listing and detailing the budget as its all out there - before the chancellor has stood up!

Lurker to these threads and posting for the first time to say happy budget day - or not. It's awful and depressing! On my way into work and hoping to make it in time to listen.

So what's the points of Rachel Reeves 'delivering' the bloody thing?

She might as well go home and have a cup of tea,

Oh she just needs to justify it all which I’m sure she’ll be doing in spades.
