A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙* *

We are bracing for the budget. 😬

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

More of this please! Conservatives win.

“Hale’s been let down for four years. It’s the same as everywhere in Trafford. We’ve got a Labour administration that’s letting us down. It needs passionate local councillors to speak up for the residents.”

Losing Green candidate Ms Weir was magnanimous in defeat, congratulating Ms Shalom. She said: “Thank you so much to all of those who supported us. We’re disappointed not to have made it over the line this time

Good stuff 👏

I've just read that a former Labour MP has switched to the Greens.

Welcome to the thread btw Smile

Yes @TheNuthatch sadly i suspect she really does believe the critics are mostly misogynists..

how do the points ‘lockdown could’ve been avoided altogether’ and the points we should’ve locked down sooner and longer square? Under par as cold so maybe not getting it…

@Rivalled yes that’s my question too. I can’t believe how much time and money it took to come up with those contradictory lines, and they’re both maybes anyway.

I think they are trying to suggest that if stronger social distancing measures had been put it place sooner, the eventual lockdown could have been shorter.

I worked on building sites throughout, as did dh. There were upwards of 100 people on site, no social distancing at all, and we all shared the same fingerprint scanner to get in and out. Yet at the weekend, I was told that I wasn't allowed to sit on a park bench outdoors. Utter madness.

Was that article supposed to make us warm to Reeves? It didn't work. Does she really think that her unpopularity is down to her being a woman? I couldn't care less whether our chancellor is male or female.

She's touring a college that the tories paid for without her tax hikes and borrowing. 🙄

Hear hear.

Playing the gender card, but overlooking her own incompetence. Brilliant.

TheNuthatch · 21/11/2025 14:25

Starmer trips up again, this time at G20 😂. Yes I'm childish.

Lloyd Russell-Moyle. He was a Brighton MP until KS suspended him. I think he’s one of the people who were being so poisonous to Rosie Duffield over the trans issue.

That’s him. Utter cretin. He suits the Green Party. They think men can be women. Watch LRM here, abusing Miriam Cates in the HoC.

I also get cross when politicians (of any party) define themselves based on where they went to school. Her school had some prefab huts, private school boys playing her at chess were rude to her, parents whose children went to the private school were surprised at her results - this pretty much describes my secondary school life. By the time people are in their forties, the stuff at school isn’t what makes them who they are.

Plus, she is NOT a chess champion - she came in at 26th.

Ms Reeves acknowledged the public might want to know what caused the scene (her crying bout), but said: “What they really want to know is that they can trust me with their money, to run the economy.

“I’m not a public personality. I’m not in showbusiness. I’m the Chancellor.”

Rachel, we don’t trust you with our money, because you are a proven liar and thief, and you are the Chancellor, in name only.

If you put the country ahead of political expediency, as you claim, then do the honourable thing and step down, preferably prior to the budget, but immediately after will suffice…

Well exactly the crying was due to the back bench voting down cuts.

None of Labour are trusted.

No-one I know is spending. Everyone is putting off spending, not eating out etc to try and save money.
Just trying to survive the next 3.5 years

I bought couple of things in the sales and feel so guilty now.

Rivalled · 21/11/2025 15:43

What the tax paying public really want to know is whether we’re going to get out of the tax rises/rising debt/poor growth/low wages cycle…I’d rather have more of my take home pay for my own decisions rather than having to decide if Reeves is spending it wisely…
