A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

Bracing for the budget 😬

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I feel like that bash the trees down tuxedo jolly goes for a really long time. Something about it starting today. I thought it had been going for about a week already.

Is anybody listening? What a ridiculous place to hold it too.

Why can't they do it on zoom?

I was laughing at Jenrick with his "Lammy's Lags" comment. Very good.

I've been bumming up the Tories too much, MN ads have just suggested a JRM calendar to me.

Speaking of COP. They want to put a £500 levy on posh flights. Is it just me? 😂

Business and first class passengers, as well as private jet users, could face a “solidarity levy” of around £500 under proposals to be discussed at the UN Cop30 summit in Belem, Brazil. Such journeys generate much higher emissions per passenger than basic economy class.

Haha.

Is it like the Pirelli calendar, with JRM in varying degrees of undress?

Actually, please don’t answer that!

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 11/11/2025 19:15

Shabana Mahmood must be laughing her head off at Lammy’s predicament.

JC.

So, only the ‘working/non-working poor’ with ten kids will be able to afford to go on holiday.

I have gone very, very wrong somewhere.

That’s some solidarity, comrade.

They all took a posh flight to Brazil, to decide whether to put a levy on posh flights to Brazil. 🤣🤣🤣.

Because until recently she was the Lord Chancellor and in charge of prisons. She had a narrow escape.

James Timpson is the prisons minister but he’s in the Lords. So the LC has to take the flak in the commons.

There’s an interesting angle on Timpson’s appointment which went unremarked at the time (July 2024). His brother (Edward?) was a Tory recruit and savaged by Labour for being a rich toff. Didn’t apply to his Labour supporting older brother though, apparently.

Edited

The ‘narrow escape’ was totally unintentional, I promise!

Are Labour feeding the newspapers stories that make Lammy look bad to take some of the pressure off Reeves?

No,

He's just that incompetent.

I sometimes wonder whether we are living in some kind of alternative dimension - it’s the bloody cuckoo’s nest.

I saw the bollard in an ill-fitting tux (003.5) and half threw-up in my mouth. What a prosecco socialist he is.

@DenizenOfAisleOfShame sorry yes I remembered that as soon as I hit "post" 🤦🏽‍♀️

@SpaceRaccoon you did that as soon as you claimed the algorithm served that to you 😂

Lammy on Mastermind makes me laugh and laugh. And the clip of him saying he hasn’t seen any police and he’s been there ages.

The idea of him having to actually be PM is also mildly hilarious. I would cling to Starmer’s knees! Stay! Please! You’re so witty and effervescent and effective…

Ooops!

A part of me does wonder if he’s been set up to fail, though. I think his cabinet colleagues realise he’s a blundering lightweight and, possibly, the best way to get him out is to give him some responsibility and public exposure.

He largely flew under the radar when Foreign Secretary because Starmer did all the international grandstanding (still does). Lammy’s in front of the public now.
