A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

RR should just go ahead and do whatever she wants to do in the budget, frankly. Add 2p onto income tax. Cut benefits. She has no chance of regaining any popularity with the general public, and no way of keeping the Labour left happy. So she should just do her thing and bow out. IMO.

Girl I worked with dated Michael Crawford back in the 70s.

I knew someone who’d worked with him many years ago. Nice man apparently.

Just don't try to make them. I had a very sticky kitchen floor after an attempt.

You're not supposed to drink the whiskey whisky before making them.

Love prunes with game, it just goes. Favourite is a handful in a Rabbit casserole.

Now you're talking.😋

I love the idea of her going rogue. The budget equivalent of Michael Douglas in Falling Down!

I like mine with prunes.

(Please don't banish me.)

Prunes on chipolatas wrapped in smoked bacon. Gorgeous 🥰

Prunes are really good in a cream sauce poured over the rest of the ham as a Boxing day supper. Serve with mashed buttery potato

This year though I'm mainly going vegetarian. I'll still have a tin of pitted prunes.

Politicians get what they deserve. They’re in it for vanity, influence and, post-politics, money. All of them.

But I don’t revel in their personal difficulties. I feel some sympathy for Reeves. She’s painfully out of her depth. Starmer should shuffle her away for her own good, and everyone else’s.

The trouble is that Starmer’s way out of his depth too. Frank Spencer is in charge of Mavis Wilton.

God help us all.

Edited

The scariest of all is there's no one any better to replace her. They've had 14 years in opposition to get their policies straight and failed. Then they have the nerve to blame FABL. They've had 18months and they're still blaming someone else for thier ineptitude.

I think you might be right - better she goes all in now.

Blows up, bows out - thanks for coming.

Catatemyhomework · 04/11/2025 20:42

I have a very 1980s christmas. Love coloured lights, although desperate to find the old fashioned ones, not LED. Think they were Pifco brand?
I like lametta, although we called it angel hair. Still have all the kuds homemade decorations. I go on a hunt for missletoe and have to take my husband as can never reach it.
Christmas food is ace. I like homemade mince pies, proper Christmas cake with royal icing. My husband loves stollen, but I'm not so keen. Weirdly, I love marzipan in between royal icing and fruit cake but otherwise, not so much.
Matchmakers are essential as is ginger bread. My kuds still make ginger bread on christmas eve. It's a kind of tradition.
Eyeing up the baileys, although if it's in the house, I'll stsrt putting it in my morning coffee so best to hold off for now!

She might as well at this point! Its game over anyway. Although I don't relish the thought of handing over my hard-earned to pay for her bender 😬

Mashed buttery potato, I'm thinking colcannon. Lush.

Yes devils on horse back and getting ahead with making sausage rolls 🤣.
Good reminders here.

I also stupidly buy pigs in blankets which I've promised myself to make ahead this year.
And stuffing.

We usually have goose or duck though so I need to look into which stuffing goes with that

I don't normally like references to personal appearances or mannerisms but I did distinctly hear at times a real darlick voice coming out of reeves when she was answering questions today.
