It’ll be fun watching all the right wing confected outrage.

PickAChew · 30/10/2025 19:11

I'd pay good money to hear Keir tell the tories to eff off. The more robustly, the better.

DuncinToffee · 30/10/2025 19:20

He can claim asylum in the US

So would I whilst he is at it have a big list of all omissions/mistakes/missteps/misremembered shenanigans the previous incumbents strokes that they pulled, I know whataboutery is a useless exercise but it’s is so vexing when they aren’t held to the same standards as other parties, is it because historically they were the aristocracy & our supposed betters.

That's a good, clear, statement.

I'm hoping the property on the Sandringham estate doesn't have 30 rooms, or anywhere near that.

Karistyleaftea · 30/10/2025 19:46

Thanks for the new thread Duncin, taxes to follow as I've been out in the wilds today.
Said it before, say it again, I am heartily sick of omedia and their nonsense going after another senior woman politician. They are despicable.
If I pay for a professional service I expect it to be correct and if anyone thinks MP's have all the time in the world to check the minutae of their life admin whist helping to run our country I think that they would be shocked at how little down time they have.
Their job is a tad more than a 9-5 role.
In my opinion Sir Keir needs a blisteringly good speech to the nation pointing out every one of the Tory scandals .
lest we forget.
And I have to watch QT tonight and I am not sure if I can bear it!

DuncinToffee · 30/10/2025 19:48

I'll be watching Traitors followed by Taskmaster Smile

Fucks sake. The tories saying a chancellor shouldn't stay in office if they commit an offence that might (if I've understood correctly), result in a fpn. Didn't they make theirs party leader after they received one?

The first party to have had 2 leaders who had received them.

DuncinToffee · 30/10/2025 19:55

Badenoch was reminded of her hacking Harman's computer but apparently that was different.

It was a criminal offence that carried a prison sentence and something she herself was responsible for.

I listened to a bit of Badenoch on the Dale show. She was rather tetchy. She is so disappointed about Reeves being off the hook.

Totally agree.

The last government illegally prorogued parliament but yet we were told by every paper going to “just move on”. Alongside every other thing they did that was wrong.

”we’ve/ they’ve apologised - nothing to see here”.

I find I’m defending the government more and more - nothing because I don’t think they’ve made mistakes but because of the double standards and obvious campaign to find anything to sling.

I don’t think she’s the only one.

InMySpareTime · 30/10/2025 20:29

I’m heartened that 18 months of digging hasn’t turned up anything more juicy than a couple of admin errors. They really can’t find anything more newsworthy than that or they would have by now.

There’s obvious disappointment in some quarters on here. Although some will never let mere facts get in the way of their tired dogma.

Yes, but guess which story using the word "Reeves" will eclipse that ...

PandoraSocks · 30/10/2025 20:48

Is Reeves definitely safe, do you think? She has fudged slightly.
