A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

This week's FON polling.
The greens are coming for Labour.

Bloody hell, Keir Starmer is so unpopular that his supporters are abandoning him for the breast hypnotiser 😁

RockaLock · 30/10/2025 18:32

I have a small amount of sympathy for RR - but only a very small amount.

She was told by an employee of the agency that they would apply for a licence for her, so she could reasonably have expected them to do so.

BUT when the months went by, and she had not received any confirmation that it had been done, or been asked either by the letting agency or the council to pay for it, why did she not realise and query it?

Why, especially if the specific agent she had been working with had left, did she not follow up on it at all just to check it was being taken care of?

I know I would be checking up on stuff like that - especially if I was an MP and knew I had to 100% play by the rules!

TheNuthatch · 30/10/2025 18:34

This is from a statement made by RR's spokesperson yesterday:

She had not been made aware of the licencing requirement, but as soon as it was brought to her attention she took immediate action and has applied for the licence.

Then today, her husband has found the emails proving that she did know.

Exactly. Its not a good look for a chancellor.

The DT and DM are brilliant at getting to stuff. Look at what happened to Rayner.

Oh, OK, my small amount of sympathy has just vanished - she lied about not knowing she needed one (not withstanding that ignorance of the law has never been a valid excuse, I don’t think).

I have the same amount of sympathy for RR as she would have for another landlord who found themselves in the same position - absolutely fuck all.

DancingFerret · 30/10/2025 18:49

If hubby has dropped RR in the mire from a very great height the dinner table conversation at No11 tonight is probably going to be a tad frosty.

I think he’s trying to cover isn’t he? With the it was an email to me

Go on DT do your Rayner stuff

100%

Lies layered upon lies.

Same old Labour - Reeves is an utter disgrace, and surely this must be the end. That Starmer wants to keep her for the budget, is academic.

EasternStandard · 30/10/2025 20:07

The Reeves story getting some Labour posters riled up. Maybe they fear another Rayner outcome.

Lovely.

They should be worried.

It’s mildly amusing when posters call her Raynor - that really sets them off…

Are they happy, or sad that she has again proved her utter incompetence?

It's all 'genuine error' 'banal error' with a side order of what the fuck is wrong with you people who hate Labour? and one 'She's doing an excellent job as chancellor'. (The last two quotes are paraphrases, the first two are not).

Scattered with the odd personal attack.

So funny, they are full of it that Reeves is “off the hook” (may or may not be at this stage). I suppose Lab supporters have very little to cheer them generally.

Not sure just the usual anger and having a go at anyone not liking Labour enough.

I’m not sure what will happen to Reeves but I’d say there’s anxiety from Labour lot over her going.

Edited

I have been known to do that on purpose. 😂
I was corrected within a minute on one occasion.

Kier gets them going too, but not as much as Raynor I find. 😂😂

Why don't they just accept that they were wrong about Labour and give up? It must be bad for their health.

Haha I bet.

With Reeves even if she stays it’s more damage for Labour, so that’s something.

I voted for Labour in 2024 😂and yes, I'm so much happier now I have accepted that Kier is both incompetent and deeply unpleasant, and the rest of them are mostly similar.

Exactly 💯
Loads of people voted for them and now regret it. There's no shame in it. I can't understand why some keep coming out to bat for Labour. They're getting angrier too the worse Labour get.
