A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Dozens of new-build projects in London have been abandoned as the Government faces claims it is set to miss its housebuilding targets.

In an echo of the financial crisis, construction sites across the capital are being boarded up.

According to a report by Molior Consultancy, work has stopped at one in six housing construction projects, including developments with more than 20 private homes.

Those projects would have provided up to 5,400 homes, the research suggested.

Weakening buyer demand combined with the long-term effects of inflation and rising costs have created a perfect storm in the housebuilding sector.

We all saw this coming, except of course, for the government. Increasing NI, threats to fiddle with stamp duty, this £500,000 home tax and a nervous mortgage market has all made buying property, especially in the south a non starter.

Just had a quick look on x to see the Comms for the various Caerphilly candidates.

Anyway, I've found a Welsh Labour post that is trying to galvanise the population to vote for them suggesting that they are very close to winning. But it's been community noted because they used a poll with national polling and not one specific to Caerphilly. 🤣 Muppets.

Well Reform's Powell did the whole, I went to vote today thing, and got about a thousand likes, and Welsh Labour Tunnicliffe did the same post and got so few likes it would suggest that not all his friends and family are out of bed yet, 12 iirc

Yeah, it sums up Labour - I just read it with a different person in mind. It's okay.

That is outstandingly misleading!

Right up there with the notorious LibDem bar charts they put on their election pamphlets.

Upstartled · 23/10/2025 11:54

Here's some polling on how financially comfortable people feel. I suppose it won't be any surprise that Labour is most loved by the wealthiest and Reform by the poorest. But what is interesting is how quickly Labour drops and how Reform pull away, so they are also the most popular with those who feel relatively comfortable financially and then all the way through to those who are struggling.

It's not just the C2DEs

It's terrible, isn't it. To be caught lying two days before the election when the entire reason that the arse has fallen out of the support for Welsh Labour is because of the complete decimation of their trust capital.
