A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Thank you @TheNuthatch
two things this week one I wager that cretin Dale Vince is in at bullshit farm in Lincoln he’s bought one productive farm in Lincoln to cover in solar he also donated £5mill to Labour took down the Union Jack and put the Palestinian flag up at Ecotricity and donated £100k to Islamist society in Cheltenham
second driving to show this week number asked me did I want to do an online study Koran course I went ballistic number from airline sold 02046192649

You've mentioned Dale Vince before so I was wondering if he had his sticky mitts on this one too.
Why can't we just put solar panels on rooftops and leave the land alone? We're an island ffs, food production should be sacred.

The DM's changing its headlines this morning as quickly as a "working lady" changes her undergarments.

Here we go 🙄
How can she say the her numbers will always add up when she's out by at least £30bn?

That's what you call click bait. She said nothing about Brexit or Farage.

EasternStandard · 15/10/2025 10:04

The main point for Reeves, and Starmer, is they committed to a one off tax hike after the last budget. If they do raise taxes again then they’ve broken that pledge.

This is from the original interview on Sky,

'Ms Reeves also lay responsibility for the scale of the black hole she's facing at Brexit, along with austerity and the mini-budget.'

The chancellor said: "Austerity, Brexit, and the ongoing impact of Liz Truss's mini-budget, all of those things have weighed heavily on the UK economy.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves admits tax rises and spending cuts considered for budget

Speaking exclusively to Sky's deputy political editor Sam Coates, Rachel Reeves says Brexit, austerity, and the Liz Truss mini-budget have all played a role in damaging Britain's economy - as she prepares to deliver her second budget.

Yep apparently so. They should be eviscerated if they go back on that.

Do you think there is any truth in what she said?

So she did say it then.

Upstartled · 15/10/2025 10:11

There are still 41 days till this bloody budget and the whole country is on tenterhooks wondering which poor sod is going to have the rug pulled out from under them this time. It's unconscionable that they have ground us down like this in a year. Bastards.

Labour blaming this, that and the other is just distraction because they don't have answer.

Falseknock · 15/10/2025 10:09

Do you think there is any truth in what she said?

I think that as usual she's refusing to acknowledge the damage her policies have had. Lack of accountability. Instead she's flailing around screaming whataboutery to deflect having to accept responsibility.

TheNuthatch · 15/10/2025 10:17

Falseknock · 15/10/2025 10:09

Do you think there is any truth in what she said?

I think she's up shit creek without a paddle because she slammed SMEs in her last budget, alongside massive spending, and massive borrowing.
What do you think?

Yes, of course, all these events took a chunk out of the economy. These were all known knowns at the last autumn budget when she ramped up debt, hobbled businesses with ni and minimum wage increases and issued one off tax hikes.

And now we still have tens of billions pounds worth of a black hole again, bigger than the one she filled this time last year.

What should be done about it if it is true?
You don't hear anyone protesting about the real issues. The people want to blame immigrants.
