A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Wow!

That's pretty telling.

EasternStandard · 16/10/2025 13:08

Incredible. They could slip to bottom easily.

After the Budget, Labour could conceivably drop to lower than 12% which must be a floor level for them.

Reform are probably under represented by the polls due to the 'shy Tory' factor which I believe is present in some Labour voters. This certainly will a factor in the Conservative reading of 17% which I think is very soft.

Thus the Find Out Now Poll could be undervaluing Reform by about 3%. However, if you are Bill Rammell you can deluded yourself by looking at the establishment You Guv numbers.

I think the next GE will be too complicated to predict as there will be so much tactical voting on all sides

That's the first FON post conference season. There has been no change across the board, except Labour dropping more support. Very telling.

Agreed.
I heard George Osborne say that the tories think they can win on a poll ratings of low twenties, if votes are split across 5 parties.

(Happy to be corrected @CaveMum if I've misheard him, or it was a different podcast. I bow to your superior pod knowledge)

Yes and post digital ID likely in there. Turns out telling people they’re the enemy and putting in non manifesto methods of control are not wanted. Good.

AbsentosaurusRex · 16/10/2025 12:30

But is it a path or is it a parth?

it’s a path for me 😆

Parth! 🤣

I only shorten about 5% of my vowels still, and that's taken 17 years up north!

TheNuthatch · 16/10/2025 10:52

Excellent 😁
I don't care who wins, as long as Labour lose.

Liz SR was ribbing Starmer on this yesterday, asking why he hadn't visited to help with the Labour campaign there 😂.

But that's the thing. He's never out on the hustings or even outside with the great unwashed (us). All his trips are carefully orchestrated indoor visits where he breezes in, makes a speech then fecks off. Look at what happened when the farmers protested at that housing development in Milton Keynes. He sloped off out the back way. Didn't even have the balls to ignore them and get on with his visit. Coward.

And that was when he was vaguely popular!

Caerphilly bi-election polling

Survation poll for @CamlasCymru makes it a two horse race between Reform and Plaid:

Reform - 41.61%
Plaid Cymru - 38.29%
Labour - 12.37%
Conservative - 3.65%
Liberal Democrat - 1.35%
Green Party - 2.72%

Bear in mind Labour previously had an 18 point majority here and 46% of the vote.

Edited

Have shared this with the family DH is in Powys today mostly farmers they'll be pleased. Thank you @twistyizzy

Are they calling us Reform?
Typical cultists ie anyone disagrees with them are name called. They refuse to accept that they are in a shrinking minority.
The majority feel as we do

MantleStatue · 16/10/2025 13:50

I have undoubtedly made a grave mistake by responding honestly in another thread. Filled with the usual posts of 'You should be GLAD to pay high amounts of tax' peppered with a 'fuck off then if you don't like the UK'. It just serves to underscore that most people think a fair tax is one that other people have to pay.

Oh I'm sorry, yes they are happy to spaff everyone else's money aren't they?

I love that people give it more prominence in their heads than the actual gov who is promoting these things.

Oh really?! 😂

Labour really do like to lay the troubles of the world at the feet of disagreeable women talking, don't they?

EasternStandard · 16/10/2025 13:53

People are getting antsy aren’t they. PMQs sound like Starmer was rattled.

The vibe is on here too. That poll slip huh

The further the popularity of Labour falls, the more aggressive and nasty they get. Wait until after the budget, they will be lashing out like caged animals.
