Labour isn't working - Thread 12

A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

It's an Internet forum. As long as they stay within talk guidelines, people can post what they like, even if it does slightly disturb their echo chamber.

Are you deliberately goading posters on this thread?

It certainly appears so.

Funny cos anyone challenging the narrative on that other thread get hounded off, however respectful and polite they are.
You aren't going to change your mind and we aren't going to change our minds so posting on here just looks goady tbh.
We know neither side will suddenly change their stance because 1 person posts something.

Like I have linked above, Israel deny UK have played any significant role

The Israeli government is pissed off with the UK because it recognised Palestine. They're not going to acknowledge anything. They may not even be aware of the role that Powell played.

Witkoff was pretty central to the deal getting done. Are you suggesting that he is lying about Powell playing a part?

Nolletimiere · 13/10/2025 08:33

Might be worth deploying the cold shoulder…

I'm not trying to change your minds. I know you're all entrenched in your views. But there might be people reading who are not.

Maybe the pro-Labour thread could take your advice on how it reacts to those who aren't fond?!

It is not "goading" to post a news story which challenges the views expressed in this particular echo chamber.

However, I can see that I've disturbed you all by posting something that doesn't support your narrative, but I've made my point so I won't stay to keep going round in circles.

Enjoy your bitter little bubble.

Nolletimiere · 13/10/2025 08:41

One major distinction on the pro-Labour thread.

They are not serious people, with any experience of the real world, of business and commerce.

Many appear to to lead a parochial existence, with felines being their main interest (aside from MN).

Ha we certainly do like our thread thanks, and you’re reading it when hiding it is an option.

TheNuthatch · 13/10/2025 08:43

Good morning 😁

I see we are being educated by a Labour missionary. Lovely.
Our visitor might want to be careful about blowing smoke up Jonathan Powell's arse. I've just heard a former head of MI6 on the radio expressing concerns about Powell's links to China as a member, or former member of China's Club 48. He's still mentioned on their website apparently.

Is that a horticultural reference, or are you indulging in a spot of ageism? Not a good look.

Why do you think Huckabee is more knowledgeable and informed? Witkoff was central to the negotiations.

Why do you think Huckabee (United States Ambassador to Israel) is lying about Bridget Phillipson (UK Secretary of State for Education and Minister for Women and Equalities), being deluded?

😆😆🤣 sweet. No wonder you don’t like Phillipson being called deluded.. must be like looking in a mirror.

Sorry. We should be more grown up. Rise above it whilst descent occurs elsewhere.

Watching bbc1 live on iPlayer. Happy times for many, obviously so much more to be worked out. And it’s not peace in the Middle East, but some hostages are going home ❤️

EasternStandard · 13/10/2025 09:15

Yes really good to see hostages released today. Credit to those who did drive it forward.
