A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I think the Lefties have forgotten that the purpose of Equality laws is to enable everyone to participate equally in society.

Not to have the world exactly as they want it, with preference granted in accordance with some leftie oppression hierarchy, which bears little correlation with reality.

They also forgot a long time ago that the law applies to everyone.

Good to hear the lies being called out.

Priti Patel said the same this morning. She said the govt had played no part at all, and that Starmer was going to Egypt tomorrow simply because he's spotted a photo opportunity. Parliament resumes tomorrow and there are plenty of domestic problems he should be dealing with.

And yet Steve Witkoff has said this morning that the UK played a "vital role" and specifically acknowledged the contributions of Jonathan Powell.

I'm not sure that Priti Patel really knows what she's talking about.

Can you share the link to Witkoff’s comments, please.

Thanks ever so.

Mike Huckabee, United States Ambassador to Israel, is probably more knowledgeable and informed, I’d suggest.

Posturing that we were vital should be called out. Aren’t there other yeh Labour threads for their spin.

CruCru · 13/10/2025 08:19

In fairness to Priti, the US ambassador said (about Bridget) “I assure you she’s delusional. She can thank <Donald Trump> anytime just to set the record straight”.

I expect that Steve Witkoff is doing some diplomatic smoothing over.

Why do you think Huckabee is more knowledgeable and informed? Witkoff was central to the negotiations.

Yep.

I think what’s telling is that very few believe a word that spews forth from Philipson’s lips.

So, you will forgive us our cynicism when it comes to her utterances.

Of course he is doing some diplomatic smoothing over, because Huckabee fucked up with his comments yesterday. It was well known that Powell had been involved before this whole row blew up.

Priti Patel was just jumping on the bandwagon when she spotted an opportunity to stick the knife in.

Isn’t there a Labour thread for their stuff?

I don't believe anything labour say now, whoever it is. They just constantly lie.

I'm well aware that some people are predisposed to find fault with everything that this government does.

There is a lot to criticise, to be fair, but we should give credit where credit is due.

It’s a nice chatty thread that has a purpose. Much like the other one for pro Labour, where people can say how well they’re doing instead.

Point made but I am confident you will not have many more opportunities to promote Labour.

As other posters have said, this is an anti-Labour thread - there is pro-Labour one, so please feel free to join that (if you are not already on it).

Thanks.

So what exact role did UK play? Because she couldn't answer that in the interview and no one from Labour has offered any detail on exactly what they did.

It's an Internet forum. As long as they stay within talk guidelines, people can post what they like, even if it does slightly disturb their echo chamber.

Agree. Let’s get back to what this thread is for.
