A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

No bitterness here, wrong thread.
Thank you for your wisdom. I feel tranformed.

Me too. I thought I needed a massage. But all I needed was an amuse bouche..

Conspiracy lunacy, I know, but this has crossed my mind more than once: are the muppets in charge actually puppets?

The Home Office is offering a communications expert up to £91,000 a year to help convince the public that Labour is tackling the small boats crisis.

A job advertisement for the role of “deputy director migration communications” says that applicants should have a “resilient” mindset and “personal authority”.

Fucking hell. The Farage thread will love that one Dancing 😂😂.

It kind of reiterates some of the concerns I heard Richard Dearlove expressing on Times Radio this morning. I haven't heard 'dodgy dossier' in a while 😬.

Resilient mindset 🤣🤣🤣
Does that mean they want someone who can lie as often as they breathe without feeling guilty?

Haha yes. Who’d want it as a job. How do you cover over the failings.

‘One sixth of cash for key benefit handed to foreigners

More than £10bn of Universal Credit went to non-UK citizens last year’

Helen Whately, shadow secretary of state for work and pensions, said: “People from far-flung countries are exploiting Britain’s ballooning benefit system. Our welfare system was intended as a safety net for British citizens not a cash machine for the world’

What a joke.

Our benefits system has been what draws people to this country for years. It all seemed to start with Bair.

Haha, that’s how I read it.

Presumably, a new arrival will get the job.

It did, of course. Ironic really, since the Polish (I’d say the first significant immigration point where benefits were claimed), let no migrants in at all.

Immigration’s been happening for years before that - but these people worked and integrated.

Hosing our taxes up a wall for partisan political gain.

Maggie Thatcher's 100th birthday today.

If ever we needed the Iron Lady, it's now. What would she make of the shambles today?

Thatcher at 100: Lavish celebrations to mark the Iron Lady's life, leadership and legacy | Politics News | Sky News

She might be good for our finance mess but not for the more authoritarian stance this country is moving towards

Her internment without trial was a disgrace

Happy Birthday Mrs.T 🎂

Great ad, great thread title.

Iain Dale did a great piece on Times Radio, I’ve also just finished his book on her which I highly recommend. Very easy to read, debunks some myths.

Ooh, that sounds good. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll have a look.

I just caught a little of Jeremy Vine on Channel 5, and heard Yasmin Alibhai-Brown complain that Trump should have sorted the Israel/Gaza situation sooner. They just can't give any credit can they.

Rivalled · 13/10/2025 10:37

Approval wise, but it would still be good news for farmers if they reformed that policy, fingers crossed! It may be about trying to win over the previous labour votes they’ve lost by looking as though they’re listening.

Nope. Neither could Phillipson yesterday. She couldn't even bring herself to say Trump's name, on the eve of such an important day.

I wonder how they’ll spin this change because they also have good reason to remove the tax on education
Its immoral !
