A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

No, I agree with you, they are pulling out some typical childhoods and orchestrating them as evidence of poverty.

I'm just adding that the assumption, even if she had been on her arse in startling poverty, that it gives you a special insight on how things should be is entirely false. And the idea that it should be used to propel your career is too.

You are quite right!

Wes Streeting has said that he wants Angela Rayner back in government. Is it terrible that my first thought is that she can’t afford her flat on an MP’s salary so is on the phone to her old mates?

Yeah, it was simpering, wasn't it? I wonder if she's penning a book - Things other People did that you Don't Know about Yet - foreword by Peter Mandelson.

CruCru · 30/09/2025 13:51

Or perhaps they really are short of politicians who are popular within the Labour Party.

I can't believe Sterner threw groomed girls in among people who Labour have stood by.

Upstartled · 30/09/2025 14:28

And Rachel looks like she's going to cry again.

Starmer saying Farage doesn’t like Britain….he seems to be giving Reform an awful lot of air time….

EasternStandard · 30/09/2025 14:44

Thank you to those watching / listening. I thought Starmer would make this about Farage and Reform. He wanted fighting lines. A bit silly as he’s fighting against voters.

EmpressoftheMundane · 30/09/2025 14:51

He’s in a double bind. His party wants move left and is frustrated. The general public want to move right. The more he placates the Labour Party, the more annoyed the electorate get.

EasternStandard · 30/09/2025 14:54

His party is moving right isn’t it? With the odd they’re all racists blip the policies are very much closer to Reform.

Although two child cap potential which we can’t afford.

EmpressoftheMundane · 30/09/2025 14:58

I think he is trying to move the party right so as not to lose the centre. His internal members hate this and want to get rid of him for Burnham or whoever else will hold true to their leftist vision.

True.

Upstartled · 30/09/2025 15:05

Yes, his bit about Liz Truss and fiscal recklessness was clearly for the benefit of the Burnham brigade.

justasking111 · 30/09/2025 15:07

The speech. Missed the beginning. Was watching the audience. Not a smile to be seen. Half hearted clapping.

Keir has such a monotone pitch he can't whip up a crowd at all.

I'm tired of the racist terms if you don't agree with everything. Tired of reform bashing.

Just crack on please with our present problems. You've four years. . Stop blaming others.

Is this a good summary:
He's like Zippy from Rainbow vomiting forth platitudes written for him by Geoffrey

Bridget looked like she was chewing a bee.

That's her standard face until she remembers her "smile training". Seriously, anyone who needs training in how to smile must be some sort of sociopath no?
