I salute anyone who can knit them. I'm all fingers and thumbs when I attempt stranded knitting and not in a useful way.

Ah yes, that’s it. The Conservatives are vulgar. And boring.

Even the Spectator has its head turned by Reform’s “Springtime for Nigel” conference. The only show in a right wing town

I was channelling Sir Larry Wildman (Terence Stamp)with the vulgar values comment- hard to see who the Tories appeal to now.

Channeling not "channelling".

I mean it's the same old, same old with the Tories. Swansong conference speech from Badenoch.

Yes, me too, very impressive!

My Dad bought me one after he visited Iceland but I was 17 at the time so didn't really wear it. Unfortunately, as above, the Moths also got to mine!

If I were the sort of person who wore these things, I'd get this one...

So arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it...

Nick Clegg says asking artists for use permission would ‘kill’ the AI industry https://buff.ly/82rXqFi

Most of my woolly things live in zip lock bags when not in regular use. If it's not moths, it's carpet beetles or occasional silverfish.

In other words 'organised crime'. Nick Clegg is a quisling. Sorry, not sorry.

Silver fish are the worst- we had so many in our shared bathroom at uni, I think because lots of the residents just left wet towels on the floor.

Badenoch getting owned by Terry Pratchett’s daughter, there is also an article in the New Statesman questioning if she’s even read the books, you feel embarrassed for her 😳

Peter Thiel's favourite book series is the Lord of The Rings. Elon Musk is really into Dune. I think some people have an uncanny ability to completely miss the point of the books they like.

If there was a dystopian novel called "evil killer death robots" some self styled tech genius would be talking about how the author was a genius and that's why he named his own drone making company "evilkillerdeathrobotco" in their honour.

SerendipityJane · 09/10/2025 08:50

I am just recalling how Labours feet are burned to a crisp when it comes to economic policy, and yet the Tories are never challenged on theirs.

And then people wonder how Liz Truss Lettuce Botherer happened.

DuncinToffee · 09/10/2025 09:00

It's aimed at wealthy people.

During the Truss budget posters on MN were crowing how grateful we all should be for the money they were trickling down.

I think the tories have reached that minority party stage where they can promise the moon on a stick.

Wow that's an excellent photo DuncinT. My ballot has arrived. I'm leaving it for later.

My memory was that there was only 1 manifesto pledge in the 2019 Tory manifesto. Which was delivered 100% in total.

The problem was it was Brexit, and they really need us to forget it.

SerendipityJane · 09/10/2025 10:02

Wasn't there a programme yonks ago called "Not In The News" ?
