@takingcareofme2023 So sorry to hear that you still have no news of your little cat. 💐

placemats · 28/09/2025 13:41

💐 @takingcareofme2023 it's incredibly heartbreaking and difficult to come to terms with.

I get the nairns GF rosemary crackers (from Aldi!) - they are the best with soft cheese, ham and red pepper!

Yes Aldi also do great crackers as well. I find goats cheese, blue and soft very easy on the stomach, but appreciate it's not to everyone's taste. Figs I love.

Apparently, cathode ray TVs are coming back. The hipsters love them.

That will explain the price tag!

Josh Widdecombe ended one show by wheeling on an old school TV (like the caretaker would in the 70s).

"You're laughing but I got three bids on this in Exeter ..."

SerendipityJane · 28/09/2025 14:09

It's never a weakness to admit you are scared. My fear is probably inversely proportional to my age, admittedly. If had the next 60 years of my life ahead of me I would be petrified. Or energised. I hope the latter.

I’m the same. I’ve realistically probably got another 15 years so, although I don’t want to spend any of my remaining precious time under a Reform government, it wouldn’t affect me for long. If I was 50 years younger I’d be rigid with fear.

Karistyleaftea · 28/09/2025 14:14

Thanks for the new thread Duncan.
Double flower tax as I am in arrears from the previous thread.

But how? It's never going to be used.

Vinyl record players I can understand. Adds latter to wish list.

itsgettingweird · 28/09/2025 16:10

Ahh yes. It’s all about the woman and children - including forcing them to conceive and give birth against their will.

placemats · 28/09/2025 16:13

But only British white women and children.

MaybeNotBob · 28/09/2025 16:17

ReGorm UK's latest environmental policy...

How does that square with the "don't have children if you can't afford them" argument for abolishing benefits ?

Saucery · 28/09/2025 17:11

Thank you for the new thread. I imagine swanwiches would taste like bad tempered turkey.

BIWI · 28/09/2025 17:41

LOL at ‘bad tempered turkey’!

It doesn't. Nothing squares up.

Or grumpy goose. Swans are basically geese on steroids.

I know we can't call them thick, but the uncurious and uncritical approach of some Reformites does tend to invite the epithet.

SerendipityJane · 28/09/2025 18:20

I won't link, to keep it below radar, but there is a weird story about a terrible event in Oxford that could not be more vague if it was written in steam.

Instantly triggered my "what's going on ?" sensor (like the one that called out the fake news about the Nobel prize yesterday 🤔)

PandoraSocks · 28/09/2025 19:13

Jane, is it the terrible thing that happened in a place beginning with B in Oxfordshire?

amicisimma · 28/09/2025 19:54

Notonthestairs · 28/09/2025 15:52

All those politicians held their views while they were in other parties.

The article also says "A Reform spokesperson said the party does not have a stance on abortion and has no intention of making changes to the current abortion laws."

Of course, we must keep a very careful eye on all parties to watch out for them moving in a destructive direction, but there are a lot of people who are interested in painting Reform, and indeed any party, in a bad light. It's a good idea, and certainly better for the blood pressure, to keep track of what a party is actually saying, rather than what their opponents say they are saying.

pointythings · 28/09/2025 20:02

@amicisimma to be fair, Reform don't need to be painted in a bad light. They do that very well themselves.
