But UAE has shit loads (technical term) of immigrants. They are the ones that do all the work.

Yes but they have no rights so it's good! Of course the people living there don't either (apart from the rich locals you see there are also tribes in the desert that are treated pretty badly) but those are insignificant details.

Can’t the Conservatives afford spellcheck??

Evenstar · 06/10/2025 19:39

Yes I saw that earlier, unbelievable

@bombastix probably not, the hall looked half empty earlier on

In fairness maybe they were trying to spell Brian? Poor Brian if so. First he loses thanks to "Liebour"** and then his name gets misspelled.

**Not a misspelling by the way. A deliberate and very hilarious play on words.

bombastix · 06/10/2025 20:03

The Labour Party may be in trouble but the Conservatives are halfway to hell. Whatever is left of their moderate vote is likely to go Lib Dem and the real right wingers will vote for Reform.

They are looking like an endangered species! They should never have elected Badenoch, she’s been a gift to Reform. She is slow and ponderous. Farage is out there on social media whipping up opinions and business.

That’s not real, is it?
Can’t be.

Evenstar · 06/10/2025 20:33

@Notonthestairs all the media outlets are covering it, I went to check as I just couldn’t believe it either. They’re toast.

The Tories don't like her and Kemi was voted in to fail. I will die on this hill.

Will Badenoch do something?

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2025/oct/06/robert-jenrick-complained-of-not-seeing-another-white-face-in-handsworth-birmingham

Robert Jenrick complained about visiting an area of Birmingham where he “didn’t see another white face” and said it was not the kind of country he wanted to live in

That’s a spectacularly tone deaf observation even for Jenrick. Has he looked at his leader lately?

Evenstar · 06/10/2025 21:01

@DuncinToffee 😮

bombastix · 06/10/2025 21:07

Come on, Badenoch was stuck the moment they wheeled her out to defend the donor who made those comments about Diane Abbott as a useless eater. She just gupped whatever lines she was given.

Jenrick’s not bothered, he knows his vote. And it doesn’t lie with a multicultural Tory party does it? That vote is on life support.

She doesn't want to micromanage? She's got the perfect opportunity to stick the boot in but she's terrified of him.

PandoraSocks · 06/10/2025 21:12

Jesus, he's no longer hiding it, is he?

Notonthestairs · 06/10/2025 21:31

Well that’s a nice way for him to take the wheel.
Poor Badenoch - she’s lost the spotlight again.

Very similar to Farage suggesting he wouldn’t be prepared to live next door to Romanians isn’t it.
Of course back in those it was described by most people as offensive and a racist slur.

Jenrick is reading the barely filled room, who doesn't like Badenoch.

The conference is a failure, so let's add a bit of a spat between the two. Pass my Horlicks.

itsgettingweird · 07/10/2025 04:23

Jenricks comment is clearly designed as a starting block for his vote into the newly “reformed” Toy party. (see what I did there?!)

PickAChew · 07/10/2025 07:54

Oh dear 😅
