Who wants to meet up in town tomorrow after their Saturday job for some Woolies pic n mix, a mooch around Our Price and then pick up the latest Smash Hits?

Oh God! I loved Eternal Beau. Never got round to buying any of it for some reason.

Nayyercheekyfeckers · 26/09/2025 21:53

Sorry, but I promised my mates that i'd go to The Body Shop to biy some Japanese washing grains and camomile hair dye and then browse the posters in Athena.

Eyesopenwideawake · 26/09/2025 21:54

I've been working hard all week and drinking even harder on Friday night so doubt I'll even be awake before 2pm but thanks anyway 😉

Pinkladyapplepie · 26/09/2025 21:54

I just got married, and my husband is nagging at me because I am so untidy🤣 worse than living at home with parents 🙃

Nsky62 · 26/09/2025 21:55

I’m newly married and spending time with my husband

CurlewKate · 26/09/2025 21:56

I think I’m too busy briefing Margaret Thatcher on education issues for Prime Minister’s Questions. It was twice a week in those days so it took up a lot of time….

BIWI · 26/09/2025 21:56

I was loving driving my new company car!

I’m not born yet but I will be in a couple of years.

KelsCommemorativeSausage · 26/09/2025 21:57

Japanese washing grains! I had completely forgotten those!

SteviesNicks · 26/09/2025 21:57

Just gone back for my second year at uni. I'm definitely up for a trip to Athena for some new posters for my room. I also need some new concentrate for my soda stream. My house mates keep helping themselves.

CottonCandyLand · 26/09/2025 22:00

I’ll come! Can we pop into Boots so I can buy more Twilight Teaser lipstick?

Hillsmakeyoustrong · 26/09/2025 22:01

I'm 10 so I definitely won't be allowed into town and I have ballet in the morning. I might see you in town later if my nan takes me in, she needs those long knickers from Marks and Sparks, now it's getting colder. I'm looking forward to staying up late and watching Strike it Lucky with my weekly pick a mix and lion bar.

ithinkilikethislittlelife · 26/09/2025 22:02

I was 16. Joyous

SteviesNicks · 26/09/2025 22:04

Can we go into Argos so I can ogle over tbe Elizabeth Duke jewellery counter?
There's a cubic zirconia ring I've got my eye on, in case I meet Mr Right, as I'm predicted to this weekend after doing the questionnaire in the Just Seventeen magazine in double maths.

I'm only 6 so I don't think my mum's going to let me. Grin I'll just stay at home and play with My Little Ponies.

Ditto. 🤣 🐴

ilsalund · 26/09/2025 22:08

My Saturday job is working in Woolies - I started on the sweet counter but have just been moved to the record counter.
The power of choosing the playlist makes me feel as if I have finally made it in life!

Rebelmcst · 26/09/2025 22:08

I'm on the bus on the way to the underage disco called Blazers out by the airport.
Parents think I'm at a friends house 😬
Wearing a purple ruffle dress from Chelsea Girl and Rimmel's sweet sizzle on my lips.

flobalobble · 26/09/2025 22:10

I took myself out to Sydney working as a nurse and traveling to escape from Margaret Thatcher !! Am going back to Oz in November to explore with my son who is now living there.

lostinwales · 26/09/2025 22:10

Gutted and jealous I can't, it's not my weekend home from the boarding school I'm stuck in. Will be spending the afternoon doing improving things whilst dressed in a polo neck of my choice and regulation pinafore dress and 'indoor' shoes. The highlight will be when the tea tins come over and we get to make toast and butter sprinkled with caster sugar. Might get to watch television later if matron says it's ok.

Supersoarer · 26/09/2025 22:13

I'm in - if we can go to Benetton and unfold all the jumpers?

MyDeftHedgehog · 26/09/2025 22:17

26 and about to make another massive mistake (man related) please stop me!!!

SteviesNicks · 26/09/2025 22:21

Oh so it was you @Supersoarer
I spent my work experience in Benetton, folding up after people like you 😂

Wow! That's riches! 😄

I think I was working in the chippy in town, a whole £2ph! But I did tons of shifts and felt very rich 😄 worked far too many hours that were allowed for only being 15, but they weren’t bothered, they got a cheap worker and all my mates would come in, especially just before closing when we’d give away ll the food that was left over. Was forever washing my long 80s rock permed hair as it either smelt of frying 🤢 or cigarettes from being in pubs.

NoodleHorses · 26/09/2025 22:25

I was 23, dating someone 10 years older than me - I regret nothing - working with horses, at a stud, in the back of beyond. Pretty sure we went to see The Princess Bride. He was bored and fell asleep. I loved it and still do. Also I got all the popcorn.
Occasionally on a Saturday , I did meet up with friends for a mooch, pick n mix and buying records. There may or may not have been a lunch time beer involved. Definitely a Wimpy at some point. The glory days of my life.
Hurricane (lost power, tiles, half the roof from the hay barn) and then 3 later, Black Monday. Luckily, the man I was with had got a tip off from his stockbroker and didn’t lose everything. I miss him, he died 8 years ago.
