I’d turned 15 just a couple of weeks ago. The start of the Uncontrollable Rebellious Years™️ but also with a side of Responsibleness and Total Independenceness. But all on my terms so that my mum can stop having a go at me 😂

I hope they played that song where you all sit on the floor doing that rowing type dance. No disco was complete without that being played, and everyone got filthy from the floor 😄

I've just arrived at University. Freshers' Week is over and the course has just started. I'm in a tower block on campus. When I arrived it had been surrounded by trees. Now it is surrounded by people with chainsaws. Anyway, we're off to the SU disco tonight, so I'm just pre-loading with some cheap wine.

Definitely The Lost Boys, so I’ll come too if you’re going to see that. I’ve been watching Dirty Dancing over and over with my mate who lived next door, we knew all the songs and most of the lines. I also have the Lost Boys soundtrack on cassette if you want to come and listen to that later 🧛‍♀️

I've just turned 15 and my best mate bought me some Iced Champink lippy from the Avon lady and a can of Impulse for my birthday, so I'll drown myself in those while deciding between my snakeskin print skin-tight jeans or my new snow-washed ones off the market. Either will look amazing with my Freeman Hardy Willis ankle boots and A-ha T-shirt!

Just let me find 13p for the bus fare and 10p for the phone box in case I miss the last bus home and I'll be there! Can we have a look in Athena for a Patrick Swayze poster and then move on to the Army Surplus store to look for leather bootlaces to make into Morten Harket bracelets?

I was 17. Had a great Saturday job in an accessory shop, trendy place, till 6pm so Woolies were closed by then. Sorry!

It’s my first birthday :)

I'll be cycling to my friends house and hopefully showing off my new bike clicky things that I got from sending off my Kellogs tokens. Then from there we bring £1 each and head into town,, me and D on our bikes and J on her skateboard. We'll go to the video shop and buy a video, maybe a cheap for same day return or we'll double the cost if we see something we really want. Then back to Ds house to watch it. We'll stop to get some sweets at the garage near Ds house then I'll get home before it's dark. Parents will ask what I got up to with my day and we'll have dinner together with big sis.

I'm 21, had my heart broken 4 times already.

oh, good old Dirty Dancing, we watched it so much we knew all the words to all the songs and nearly all the lines too, and listened to the soundtrack on cassette. Our other mate’s dad owned the local shop and he rented out videos but we were allowed to borrow any of them, and he’d slip us the 18s on the sly so we could watch all the horrors too. I’ll be working there in a couple of years while I’m doing my A Levels, I saved up tons in the summer holiday before uni, so that I could buy everything I needed for the accommodation etc, it felt very grown up buying my first kitchen items and things like that. It was probably my favourite job I had as a teen, even though I’d have to get up stupid early to go in and sort all the newspapers, especially on the weekends when they all had a million supplements, so that they were ready for when the newspaper boys and girls came in around 6 or 7am. But I really loved that job and the family that ran it. Happy memories 😊

I’m a foetus of about 7 months gestation. My 19 year old mother will probably come with you. Shes the one in the bright blue shellsuit. My 18 year old dad might be with her. He’s got long blonde hair and puts bottle caps on his boots like Bros.

January 87 saw Frankie Goes to Hollywood at Wembley arena, support act was Berlin. Came out to thick snow and had to drive home, roads deserted and really fun. September drove round western USA with future DH (still DH!) came home and slept through the storm in October. I loved the eighties!
