A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Just to add, this comment about Starmer wasn't even from someone in the UK but from Nigeria! It seems people all over the world have him sussed!

Everyone except those on MN

Parsley4321 · 28/09/2025 16:58

@twistyizzy unbelievably it’s true

And Blair is such an honest person there would obviously be no suggestion of self interest I presume?

Have I read this correctly......ID cards are being touted by Blair, whose son runs a tech company? Connect the dots anyone

Edited

Apparently Tony Blair has millions of pounds worth of shares in the company. I'd put money on Starmer too, but it'll be well hidden of course.

@twistyizzy Euan Blair's company is called Multiverse.

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 28/09/2025 19:47

I find this conspiracy stuff very unlikely.

There’s plenty wrong with this government. And with the ID card crap they’re spouting. The argument against Labour and its policies doesn’t need doubtful internet rumour.

Yeh no doubt someone will benefit from them but I can't find any official link. However I also don't trust Blair

EasternStandard · 28/09/2025 20:17

There’s a things feel meaner thread going. It’s actually quite nice around here still but I get the sentiment. I think it’s because Starmer is mean. He takes everything to battle level and Labour are against most people.

Lol well yes of course!

Twimbledonia · 28/09/2025 20:35

They endlessly refer to the ‘Torys’ giving contracts to cronies - they are all the same.

All of the PPE contract corruption accusations are made up Labour shit. There’s no evidence for any of it.

What’s so stupid about it coming from Labourites is that it was civil servants who awarded the contracts. You know, those arch Tories in the civil service. 🙄

It’s very telling that right up until the election Labour was calling it ‘corruption’ - the ‘corruption tsar’. Immediately after the election it became ‘counter-fraud’. So not corruption in government or the civil service at all, but chasing run-of-the-mill fraudsters, who rip off central and local authorities all the time, and no doubt always will do.

Every day on MN I see posters going on about Tory PPE corruption. The biggest political lie of the last 100 years. And the morons will carry on believing it.

Wasn’t the Mone corruption proven?

Wasn’t the Mone corruption proven?

The Tory government started civil proceedings to recover the money from her. She wasn’t in government and she wasn’t a civil servant. And she was suspended from the Lords.

Beyond that, she’s now the subject of criminal investigation and we ought to steer clear of that.

Well she said she was a ‘scape goat’. For what I wonder. Still not the point of this thread.

Pearlyjam · 28/09/2025 22:24

Is it just me or does anyone else feel that Kier Starmer is actually a really, really horrible person who wants to inflict harm and misery on British people? In all my 50 years, I have never known a more immoral, toxic, weak, pathetic, corrupt, narcissistic prime minister as Sir Kier Starmer.

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 28/09/2025 22:41

Rivalled · 28/09/2025 22:23

Hmmm this infighting certainly looks real at this point:

Andy Burnham accuses Starmer of allowing ‘climate of fear’ in Labour

That article is quite amazing really. After 15 months in government!

The major challenge to Starmer - i.e. Andy ‘totally fucking useless’ Burnham - is coming from an opportunist who’s riding with the left of the party. Ignore the bond markets, spend, spend, spend. 🙄

Hasn’t the Labour left learnt anything? Incredible. And it looks it’ll rise again. (John McDonnell’s also in there stirring it up against Starmer.)

Starmer’s toast. And I think it’s clear enough even now that the Labour government is treading water until the great Labour meltdown of 2029.

Not just you, I have always felt that way about Starmer. I don't see him as an inept clown, I see him as malevolent. There is a darkness to him imv, he makes my skin crawl.
