A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

😂 You get the feeling that that Japanese Knotweed insult hit pretty hard.

😂😂 And a 15min speech in a 2 minute slot.. Japanese knotweed indeed ..

Hmmm this infighting certainly looks real at this point:

Andy Burnham accuses Starmer of allowing ‘climate of fear’ in Labour

Thanks for the share token. That's not a good first day at conference is it 😬. What a mess they are.

I saw a short clip of Steve Reed's speech. There were people in the audience wearing red baseball caps with 'Build-Baby-Build on the front. They looked like MAGA hats 🫣.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel that Kier Starmer is actually a really, really horrible person who wants to inflict harm and misery on British people? In all my 50 years, I have never known a more immoral, toxic, weak, pathetic, corrupt, narcissistic prime minister as Sir Kier Starmer.

Totally agree. He makes my skin crawl. How the fuck he got to be PM baffles me.

The entire top team - reeves, Philips on and Starmer, they’ve got a puritanical zeal about them - not a good echo. You get the feeling they’d be the ones banning Christmas if they thought it would raise a few quid for ‘working people’.

boy was I wrong about Burnham, I thought he was just to scare us into backing the current team, but he’s clearly going for blood.

Gaslighting, clueless and craven. Not a good combination.

And why do they all sound sneering when they talk with some nasal voice. It’s like Labour branding.

EasternStandard · 29/09/2025 07:15

Reeves on, ‘Andy’s got an important job’ ha they are worried.

Parsley4321 · 29/09/2025 07:31

They are all of those dreadful things and they are ruining this country so fast you can’t even catch your breath I feal so bloody out of my depth. The shows are really hard work some lovely nuggets but a lot very dire people have no £££££. My friends are all divided some militant canvassing for more petition votes some inert my enhanced dbs has arrived do I expect a date soon to start which I will kick back into next year. As you all know I duck and dive but times are tough and it looks like a job is the way forward sadly. Hay is expensive so my horse may have to go out on loan I can’t bear to sell him but I’ve lost my nerve and it’s hard to motivate myself to ride. It’s all so rubbish

I watched him on Camilla Tominey.

He's so rude, and that's the least that can be said of him.

Where are the resources going to come for his new towns?

Water? Electricity? Food? Just clean air?
Sewage?

What don't we take stock of what is already built? The thousands of council flats that have been given out like sweeties? The empty shops?

Once we concrete it over it's over. We cannot build our way out of this while demand continues to grow.

twistyizzy · 29/09/2025 08:26

Reeves is "proud" of what they've done in last 14 months 😡😡 they've decimated the economy and she's "proud" 😡😡😡 This is why I can't listen to them

Yes, couldn't agree more. Its sickening.
I saw some interviews with the local where one of these new towns was planned. They didn't seem happy at all.

Sorry to hear that, especially your horse. I hope you manage to keep him. Is there someone who could help with the riding? Or could someone come with you to build your confidence?
Good luck with the new job. At least you get paid holidays etc. I hope it works out for you.

I'm not sure if this has been posted before.
Why do they have to keep lying?🤬 They're not putting 2.6% into council coffers, it's less than 0.6%. The population are picking up the rest. It's sickening. When is it going to stop? Seems they're only putting 'more money in the working man's pocket' so they can steal back again.😡😡😡

Households are set to face a more than £9billion increase in council tax, new figures show.
Upon announcing its spending review in June, Labour claimed spending power for local authorities would rise by an average of 2.6 per cent by 2029.
According to The Telegraph, new figures reveal that two-thirds of the spending power the Government announced will come from higher taxes on bill payers.

A Freedom of Information request submitted to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) by the Conservatives has now shown that council tax bills will rise by £9.4billion in England by April 2029.

I don’t think proud is the right mode to strike either - that won’t help..they’re desperate to convey hope but they can’t strike that note properly. Their approval ratings show people aren’t feeling proud of what they’ve done so far.

glad Reeves can look herself in the mirror - in their minds as long as they’re ’better than boris’ they’re alright jack.

Agreed. He always was, with his faux oh some people say I should go for it crap. The good news is should he usurp Starmer, he’ll be an even worse more left wing pm which will mean they’ll get kicked out with even greater zeal. The bad news is Labour sneery muppets with no clue, are still in charge of our country. At least we’re one year down. I really wish the conservatives would start mobilising a decent opposition. Reform aren’t a good option.

To the lurkers who own cats:-

Please put a feckin bell on their collars, or better still, don't let them wonder into other people's garden to kill wildlife. I am sick of it! I am just about to set off to the vets AGAIN with a badly injured bird, covered in blood which will need to be euthanized.
It was being savaged by a cat in my garden this morning when I got up. I have had to do this 4 times this year.

Absolutely. My garden is a cat free zone thanks to my lovely dogs.

But do get a little bell for Horatio.
