A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I mean, it's not Angela's Ashes but it's not like she's doing a Jenny from the Block. I was expecting something more scandalous than her mum selling her ex-council home for £100k, thirty years after buying it.

I still don't agree with her ideology and the policies but it's clear the Daily Mail are gunning for her in a way that seems a bit 🤷🏼‍♀️

I agree. She would seem to have a fair-enough story to tell of a straitened childhood.

I see Mark Carney made it to the Women's Rugby Final...wonder if Starmer will pop up, y'know, now he's super patriotic and it is an approved use of flag situation?

Most trades sail over the VAT thresholds anyway, don't they? The cost of materials alone make turnover costs huge.

Edited

Many get customers to buy the materials.

Most put 20% on materials. I think you and I know different tradies. 😁

Starmer now has a lower satisfaction rating than any other PM since before Thatcher

Here’s a nice Saturday pick up for Labour

Absentosaur · 27/09/2025 17:42

Starmer is just embarrassing. Is he really the best our country can do in terms of PM? A peters principle lower than average intelligence legalite. 🤢

JustStopItNorasaurus · 27/09/2025 17:51

It's strange really. I am a lawyer and DH is always a bit snarky about lawyers because he says we can't usually see beyond our training. In other words if you go into law you tend to have a respect for the law which is then embedded in and you forget that those around you tend not to give a shit about law- especially if you are in criminal law.

Every so often (increasingly often) I explode with 'Starmer's a fucking moron' and he says 'well he can't be a moron, because he is a barrister and you have to be pretty smart'.

So this week we discussed it in depth. I maintain KS is a bit of an idiot. DH says he's not an idiot, he's just greedy, craven and amoral.

Thanks Eastern. I needed that today. I feel like I'm going mad on these threads some days.

Oh how I remember the MN Labour fans boasting after the GE about what a clever, inspiring and persuasive man Starmer is. All to do with being a KC and former DPP, apparently.

So gullible and starry-eyed they all are. What a completely talentless, nasal-voiced, inarticulate, stupid, greedy PM he’s turned out to be.

Anyone who voiced doubts about this patently hollow but obscenely self-important man was shouted down.

Well, suck it up now, MN Labourites.

They are still defending him 🤯
I don't know what more they need to see before they admit how wrong they were.

They have become obsessed with Farage and reform. Probably because they cannot face up to reality of what Starmer is.

Well said and @DenizenOfAisleOfShameHe absolutely is all these things. As well as clueless which lands him at the top of that graphic.
