A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

The list goes on doesn't it. M&S, Afghanistan leak, Co-Op, now children's identities being hacked. I mean how can Starmer announce this whilst JLR are shut down and begging for a bail out for their supply chain? It beggars belief.

According to Starmer supporters it's fine because digital ID isn't for voting 🙄 so it doesn't infringe on democracy

upseedaisee · 26/09/2025 08:41

The same Starmer supporters who all knew Grannies spending their wfa on bingo and gin this time last year, who knew people on pip doing extreme sports prior to the welfare bill falling, who thought his Island of Strangers speech hit the right notes...those supporters? 😎

So the tldr version of the above is: Sorry, sorry, I.D. cards, sorry, have some money. The comments suggest his message isn't very reliable 🤷🏼‍♀️

Meanwhile:

YouGov MRP poll

Reform 311 seats
Labour 144 seats
LibDems 78
Conservatives 45
SNP 37

https://share.google/KsT5JtbrzGxBA8QkW

Reform in 15 seats striking distance of an overall majority on this one.

This would see Reform in power I think. I just heard that briefly but had to go so need more info.

I hope Starmer is panicking. He’s an idiot.

To be fair, Labour and the Conservatives should be panicking. The map that accompanies the polls show the loss of huge political figures. The lack of faith that people have in the established parties speaks of a kind of hopelessness that is destabilising for a country.

Yes, I'm hoping to watch us win the rugby on Saturday and then watch these fuckers spit the word comrade at each other on Sunday. Should cheer up a rainy weekend.

Unfortunately for conservatives the more Starmer and Labour push people with gov control type stuff or taxes etc the more support goes to Reform. There’s not much any conservative leader could do.

Their fate is also tied to how much Starmer pisses people off and that’s one thing he is good at.

I’d love them to get support back but I think Starmer’s ‘digital ID scheme’ has just shored up anger at Labour which then goes to Reform.

Absentosaur · 26/09/2025 09:03

Urgh I can barely read the deluded self- righteous guff Labour supporters spout on MN, never mind X etc, godforbid watch them braying and frothing (I use their favourite term, here) on tv. An unthinkable waste of my most minimal brain cells. So I shall spend the weekend watching sports (mainly school!), walking the dogs and eating nice food. Instead ❤️

(.. but cheating by reading any updates from you lot of lovelies here 🙃)

Yes agree. Tories are done until after the next election. All they can do is become the alternate right opposition of Reform win the next election

What?

Go to the trouble of creating an ID but use a different ID for voting?

Yeah, that will be it!

They have to twist it to get the narrative they believe in. Even if that twisting makes no sense

They know that civil liberties did for ID cards last time, so they're sticking as hard as they can to the message that 'The cards are to control Other People (Bad People) - not you'.

Bloody populists. Exploiting division is the only thing in their playbook.

And of course they know that as soon as ID cards - sorry 'Digital IDs' - are in, their use will be massively expanded... by very earnest, reasonable-presenting men like Starmer... who are secretly wetting themselves at the idea of having more control over us.

Absentosaur · 26/09/2025 09:28

‘Computer security experts also say centralised data could create a juicy target for hackers who, as the cyber-attacks on Jaguar Land Rover, the Co-op, the British Library and others have shown, pose a growing threat to the UK’s ability to function. It should be possible to decentralise the data to reduce that risk, but the detail is yet to be spelt out.

Huge government and public digital projects also have a history of going awry in the UK. Blair’s institute reckons it will cost £1bn to set up and £100m a year to run. It does not take a cynic to fear those costs could spiral.

The Association of Digital Verification Providers has estimated that a full mandatory national ID system would cost more than £2bn.’

👀 This doesn’t include the nursery data hack of course. Come on Rodney. Say stop before it’s costs us any more money.

Digital ID cards: a versatile and useful tool or a worrying cybersecurity risk?

As Keir Starmer aims to revive ID card system first proposed by Tony Blair, we look at the arguments for and against

Of course they are. If you can’t lead, control.

People sleepwalking into that. Wait until we have social credits and carbon units. Check benefit spending / strikers / use of NHS.

Notice how it’s a ‘digital ID scheme’ not a card. Take note of the scheme part, it will be that. I hope it backfires at next GE. 1984 here we go.

Pearlyjam · 26/09/2025 09:32

Kier Stalin Starmer must really despise the British people and think we are completely stupid if he expects us to believe that digital ID cards will reduce illegal, sorry 'irregular ' 🙄 immigration. He has no intention whatsoever of reducing the numbers of illegal immigrants. He's a globalist who believes in open borders and is just a puppet of the WEF. How much money is he personally making from illegal immigration i wonder? How much money would he and Tony Blair make from digital ID card scheme?
