A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

It's lovely, a bit small, only having one bedroom, but I've done the big house, huge garden, horses and dogs. This is my swansong and will future proof my living arrangements. Not that I'm intending to kark it anytime soon.😁

Good for you. Easier to clean and cheaper to heat too.
No karking just yet 😂.

Karking ?? @upseedaisee ( is that northern slang ? )

I’ve googled as is my way

  • to take full advantage of a free buffet 😆

or

  • to not be a burden

the later probably relates to getting all that free buffet home

Rivalled · 25/09/2025 17:57

@upseedaisee we all have to plan for and make our move to the dower house eventually!

Yep. I re read it recently. People happy about it elsewhere. Maybe they’re not getting the digital database part.

Upstartled · 25/09/2025 18:10

Karking - dropping dead!

DancingFerret · 25/09/2025 18:14

GabrielsOboe · 25/09/2025 17:10

You can see where this is heading….

There will be exemptions/carve outs for:

Union members, illegal immigrants, welfare claimaints et al.

Yep, everyone bar the likes of taxpayers (Labour's sitting ducks) will have an excuse and it will be accepted at face value.

It's yet another word to die, push up the daisies, snuff it. But also to to have an oh crap moment. It's all in the phraseology!😁

twistyizzy · 25/09/2025 18:20

LeakyRad · 25/09/2025 17:25

Yup, and frankly the thought of this shower announcing even more of a tax raid on "the broadest shoulders" in order to pay for a shonky, expensive, intrusive, compulsory online database that'll gift all our personal data to the world's criminal organisations... AngryAngryAngry

Oh yes 100%. Watch it be the education tax 🙄

TheNuthatch · 25/09/2025 18:56

Just read on Sky that Lib Dems, Reform and the Greens have all given a firm no to digital ID. I'm almost certain that Corbyn will also be heavily against. Some Labour MPs also coming out against.
Kemi Badenoch criticising it as a deflection tactic, but she didn't rule it out either. Slightly disappointed in her response tbh. I hope she firms that up.

Corbyn says this about ID cards:

Shame he isn't in Labour party any more, a nice bit of division would be perfect going into conference

GabrielsOboe · 25/09/2025 19:24

Of course, Starmer’s given rationale for ID cards is utter bullshit, as is typical for him.

Most of us know it.

Incidentally, if there is a mass rejection of ID cards, with people refusing to sign up etc., that’s the end of Starmer, right there…

twistyizzy · 25/09/2025 19:24

I was looking forward to conference before but even more now!!

Shamelessly pinched from elsewhere:

If Labour were an animal what would it be? These 2 are my favourites replies

I use it too (East Mids born). I'd spell it with a 'c' though, so it's like carcass. Carc / carcing. 🤷‍♀️

Not sure I knew how it was spelt!

Also Starmer and ID cards can both feck off

Agreed! Fucking stupid idea. The man is a bona fide fuckwit. (Rodney, you plonker.)

GabrielsOboe · 25/09/2025 19:39

Amusingly, Labour’s feline-bothering crowd are evidently up-in-arms about the prospect of ID cards.

Funny that…
