A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I hear Rachel is adding a 50% tax on all M&S early Christmas food orders 🤣

I hate KS too. He is an unprincipled coward. He'll say and do anything to remain 'popular', which, ironically but predictably, is causing him to be despised. How can a political leader not have realised that strong leaders with clear vision and direction are the successful ones?

🤣🤣🤣🤣 ssshhhh don't give her ideas!
M+S is too privileged so there should be a 100% tax

Welcome 😁

Yes, the more he tries, the worse his ratings become. He has zero clue as to why he's unpopular. It begars believe that they just keep ploughing on with the same crap.

One of the issues with Starmer and I know we shouldn’t base anything on looks blah blah but he always look like he’s a deer in the headlights.

It sums up everything I think about him

Omg you are joking but you are probably not far from the truth. This idiotic bitter gvt could indeed add tax into all items in M&S and Waitrose. Because anyone shopping there, it’s luxury innit. They wouldn’t tax Booths because that’s Northern only. Even though Booths is nicer than Waitrose and M&S. I await the news on luxury supermarket tax.

IDareSay · 23/09/2025 11:55

We really need this statutory code of practice to be published, given so many organisations are blathering about 'awaiting guidance' to restore women's single sex spaces (even though the Supreme Court made the law crystal clear).

Now, due to yet more internal Labour party bollocks, it looks like we will be lucky to see it before December! I am so sick of this government.

"The Minister now has to decide whether to lay the revised Code of Practice in Parliament, under the so-called negative procedure for statutory instruments (secondary legislation), though it seems she will not do so before the House of Commons returns from its four-week conference recess on 13 October – and quite possibly not until she has got the Labour Party deputy leadership contest out of the way (the result will be announced on 25 October). But, if and when she does lay the Code of Practice in Parliament, it will almost certainly come into force 40 sitting days later, despite an attempt by multiple trans organisations – supported by Liberal Democrat MPs – to force not just a Commons debate, but a free vote, and pressure from the Trans+ Solidarity Alliance to reject the Code of Practice and start again."

Well this is the party who needed the Supreme Court to tell them what a woman was, up until then they didn't know 🙄 Most other parties were pretty clear.

JustStopItNorasaurus · 23/09/2025 12:00

DS1 has autism also and he asked me about the paracetamol issue when on the school run.

I said 'Darling. ... it's bollocks'.

He was happy with that at that time, but I feel the subject will come up again. The convo moved on to the Jimmy Kimmel show.

Catching up with the posts; thanks for sharing the DM article. Absolutely agree that he's the worst PM I've ever lived under. He came in and he was so negative, blaming everything on the tories; no attempt to unite under a positive vision. And then there was attack on the elderly, then the farmers, then the disabled, then private schooling and now business. And now the planning; my area has been flooded with proposals to develop on the green belt; the council has said that if they don't go with it, the government have said they'll take over! Everything from this government feels like a mix of revenge and incompetence. I'm so sick of them. PS Good idea about booking an M&S shop; might do that before November when we're bound to get hit again.

Pearlyjam · 23/09/2025 12:14

I despise Starmer too. He's destroying our country and I despair for the future of my 10 year old daughter. He comes across as weak and incompetent but I think its all a facade and he's actually very dangerous.

When you look into his eyes they are empty, soulless. Maybe he's already sold his soul to the devil.

Actor and Writer James Dreyfuss wrote this on X about Starmer which I think sums him up perfectly:

''A man so vacuous, flaccid & devoid of anything remotely resembling a moral, ethical or political compass, that he inspires nothing but broiling, molten contempt '''

Rivalled · 23/09/2025 12:17

Don’t give them ideas - I see a rumoured tax on chocolate - time to start panic buying!

😂 It's a risky strategy. What if you leave it too long and you end up with chocolate that has gone white and flavourless with neglect? <Shudder>

They don’t need further confirmation
Its all in the building regs and always has been

They can try and overrule what a woman is but atm we can carry on regardless with the regs as they stand
