If babies could be bought at shops, where would yours have come from?

DD1 mentioned how disgusting she thought it was that she was inside me. I said that it is a bit weird, and if I could have bought her from a shop, I would have done. She feels confident that she'd have been a John Lewis baby, but decided that DD2 is more a sort of IKEA vibe as she's more chaotic, but does the job of being a child.

If you'd have bought your children from a shop, which one do you think they'd have come from?

Eldest - marks and Spencer

two youngest - prison tuck shop

Breezydais · 14/09/2025 07:00

Bass Pro some days, Ralph Lauren others

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 14/09/2025 08:27

DS - The Comic Book Store from Big Bang Theory
DD - An old fashioned sweet shop that sells sherbert lemons by the quarter pound.

Muffintopmumma · 14/09/2025 08:31

Kwik Fit - obsessed with wheels. Not really the vehicles attached to them, just the wheels

Artifishal · 14/09/2025 08:33

TK Max - wild, chaotic, doesn't fit in its box - in fact there may not even have been a box, but a great find nonetheless

Whatever shop it was it’d have been couriered by Evri cos both of mine arrived way later than the tracking system promised.

Edited

Hahaha this is brilliant

Some expensive French, no Parisian, upscale boutique where the sales assistants stand looking out the window, look you up and down as you peer in and sneer because they know you’re not thin/rich enough to buy their clothes.

She can be positively Machiavellian. But she’s a good one really.

TheaBrandt1 · 14/09/2025 08:38

Dd1 - Waitrose organised and up together
Dd2 - Gucci - beautiful and extremely expensive

Marylou2 · 14/09/2025 08:39

Waterstones or Ralph Lauren. Her favourites.

BunnyRuddington · 14/09/2025 08:40

DC is definitely from a Sports Shop. Was busy in the womb and hadn’t stopped yet.

DC2 is from a Car Boot. Slightly wacky find, slightly damaged but loved.

AlohaRose · 14/09/2025 08:41

DS1 would be from Decathlon
DS2 from Anthropologie

Scottishskifun · 14/09/2025 08:42

DS1 Cotswolds - always wants to be outside regardless constantly launching off things

DS2 Build a bear he just wants cuddles, to be sat and read to and constantly in contact

Selflessness · 14/09/2025 08:42

A health food shop.
Smells a bit funny, lots of promises with debatable results.
Babies from other shops seem to do just as well regardless that my shop would sag it has all the answers.

Ophy83 · 14/09/2025 08:43

DS - a games shop that sells board games, lego, interesting chess boards, d&d dice etc

DD - Brown Thomas or Galeries Lafayette

Magpiecomplex · 14/09/2025 08:44

Older one probably came from a charity shop, really not fussed about material possessions.
Younger one came from Forbidden Planet, or possibly a Warhammer shop.

Simonjt · 14/09/2025 08:48

Ours are adopted so it isn’t unusual for people to ask where they came from, the oldest cost us £30 so I typically say asda, where as the youngest cost £60 so more of an m&s food court.

Some on here once spread a rumor that I flew to India and bought loads of children, so hello, I’m waving if you’re reading 🤣

Whateverwillwedonow · 14/09/2025 08:48

Dd1 white stuff, clean, fresh, floaty and serene.
DS1 A quirky backstreet curiosity store, colourful and mysterious.
DS2 Billabong, surf dude.
DD2 Zara, miss fashionista, into trends.
