Oops, ghost post, I was about to post, I hope the cat gets well soon, my DD has a hamster who has been sneezing lots, not quite the same but something to do with change in the seasons?

In the absence of a GE, then letting these rights settle, and making keeping them a manifesto pledge would certainly help to isolate the more extreme parties

It's one thing to prime someone to bore on about NI rises being a "tax on jobs" (which should have been news to no one who has ever done a days work ....). It's another to get them to say "these new rights are a bit crap aren't they"..Especially if people actually see these rights working for themselves, their families and their colleagues.

There is a reason why the push for Reform is so insistent and - dare I say it - every so slightly hysterical. Because it will be harder and harder to maintain the longer Labour have to bring in changes they will be forced to reverse.

Yes, let's hope that plays out.

Let's wave an EU flag for Starmer?

DuncinToffee · 15/09/2025 17:26

I don't think many of them really want rights taken away from them. They just need to be informed that that is exactly what Reform is doing

However, they will insist that that is not what Reform are saying, and that "they're on our side", and not realise until they've voted to have their rights taken away from them.

See Brexit...

Hope your cat is ok @cardibach. I sneezed a lot on arrival in Gozo, but I’m not a cat - some days I reckon I’d like to be though.
Pets being poorly are always a worry though, so hope the vets goes well.

Hopefully! At least just a consultation fee won’t have me eating beans on toast for the foreseeable…
If she wasn’t flat Face I’d risk it and see what happened, but their breathing is compromised anyway (she’s a rescue, I didn’t choose flat face) and this is her 3rd patch of it recently.

I briefly had a read, what came to mind was a General Melchett (Blackadder) quote:

"When all else fails, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through."

This covers my thoughts for 99% of Reform inspired threads on MN these days!

She sounds lovely, my DC are desperate for a Cat but I'm allergic to most animals unfortunately hence the Hamster. I'm not keen on caged animals but he has the biggest unit thing we could buy and he is out loads, he's impressively determined - have a video of him making 10 attempts to drag a corn on the cob back to his bed!

I agree, the life of a cat looks great.

A EU flag in the title will attract unwanted attention.

I think what Oven den meant to say was, it's an absolute shame and disgrace that I can't be held to the same low life standards as that of the Tories, DUP and Reform.

Problem of course being all out tights are lost - not just there’s.

And I’m sure they’ll blame someone else rather than themselves anyway. Twats.

This is just pathetic. How can some so senior be so juvenile about a member of their own party? Gutter stuff from everyone involved.

Piggywaspushed · 15/09/2025 20:31

If anyone ever has the spare time to read the full report about anti semitism, it also includes investigations into racism and bullying in the party. It's mainly about Diane and is distressing.
