Taxes optional but greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the new thread Duncin, they’re coming faster and faster.
Flower tax as per.
@ThatbloodyRoblox I saw her, the more I hear and see from Reform the more unhinged they seem.
In my opinion,

Farage on sky news tells Beth Rigby he never said he’s stop the boats in 2 weeks if he gets in. He’ll just make the legislation as apparently no one can stop them coming.

He’ll use RAF bases to detain, and will deport woman back to Afghanistan.

Sky have reported he’s changing his mind and saying things that are on record he’s said.

will deport woman back to Afghanistan

So much for caring about women and girls.

Paying tax in the shape of DDOG2 back from the Vet with absolutely nothing wrong with him after incurring £1000 of bills.
Does not declaring the existence of a second dog count as tax evasion?

Depends on whether one could be described as your main dog. And which one.

Presumably he thinks this wont harm him electorally, says a lot about his base.

I don't do ironing @itsgettingweird but all power to your elbow. Jenkins made the song up - it's called I am insomnia 😂

Scaffolding for tax purposes.

PickAChew · 06/09/2025 17:36

I'm the one who was ironing. I actually got into the zone where I started to find it soothing and meditative, despite the new iron that I don't quite get on with and even did the shirt that I've been throwing back into the basket every time for the last month 😇 (I wear only natural fibres and make 90% of what I wear so spend a lot of time at the ironing board)

PandoraSocks · 06/09/2025 17:53

Well I'll go to the foot of our stairs! Frog-face lied.😲

So he basically visits Clacton when he needs clean undies.

BBC News just reported the same, Laura Kuensberg instead of Beth Rigby

Hardly a USP.

For all the Farage fervour, I'm thinking his Achilles heel is Putin. Because it's already hovered a little bit in the periphery, but Farages weakness is an inability to criticise one of his bosses. Which can be glossed over as long as Putin stays in his box.

A UK gripped (again) by anti Russian fervour is probably a less fertile ground for Reform than one gripped by anti brown fervour. Even if Russians are (very) white.

(I'm not saying I'm looking forward to WW3. But it could have some benefits ...)

That’s a good article.

Nice to see Farage finally being held to account - and hopefully at some point hormone tk the same standards others are held to but the ones he holds them to.

He seems rather twitchy bum about his tax affairs.

Let's hope HMRC cyber security is better than MoD cyber security.

And with Fujitsu now bidding for a bit of the HMRC pork barrel, let's hope they've improved things since Horizon.

The Reform conference is raging a war on education and climate

This is pure comedy though

“I too came from a poorish family,” says the 3rd Viscount Monckton of Brenchley, eldest son of Major-General Gilbert Monckton, 2nd Viscount Monckton of Brenchley and Marianna Letitia, Viscountess Monckton of Brenchley.

Thank you DuncinToffee for starting a new thread.

I watched some of it yesterday, although felt guilty that I was adding to their viewing figures. I think the worst part for me was watching Jeremy Kyle adopt a cheeky chappy persona, asking conference goers if they were enjoying themselves in the lunch hour, making cringe jokes, like asking a woman if the much younger women sitting next to her was her sister; knowing full well that it is likely to be her Mum! The humour reminded me of when I visit a local small supermarket, this guy on self service looks at me for the age approval for the alcohol and always says the same joke, "over 25- just!". I know I sound like a miserable so and so but this has been going on for a year! 😆

BIossomtoes · 06/09/2025 18:31

I heard Gove interviewed on R4 earlier, he was praising Mahmood for being “socially conservative”, that surely has to be the kiss of death? I didn’t realise he’s now Lord Gove, I bet Sarah Vine’s spitting nails at missing out on being Lady Gove.

Yes, I didn't realise that until last month when I'm was reading an article about him being the originator of VAT on private schools.

What the Shock

The Reform party conference has been told that Covid vaccines are the probable cause of cancer for the King and the Princess of Wales

The party chose to platform Dr Aseem Malhotra, a prominent ally of RFK Jr in their dangerous maverick campaigns against vaccines

Talking of Covid vaccines

-A) that’s completely nuts and why did they think that necessary? And

b) I had a message today to say they’ve revised those eligible for the winter Covid jab. Both ds and I use to get it as he was vulnerable and I’m his carer. Then carers weee stopped a couple of years ago for Covid. Now it’s only over 65 and immunocompromised. The clinical group who get the flu jab due to conditions aren’t eligible for Covid jab with those conditions this year.
