Yep. Popping up like Lammy whack a mole!

Maybe a thread with Duncin excellent Led by Donkeys clip would be fun?!

PandoraSocks · 07/09/2025 14:23

I see Lucy Connolly received a standing ovation at the Reform conference. Seems she is angling for a career move as prisons advisor to Farage.

That 'lived experience' always helps in a job like that Grin

PandoraSocks · 07/09/2025 14:30

To be fair to LC she did speak a little bit of sense about too many women being in prison who are no danger to anyone.

But she is still a horrible racist.

Evenstar · 07/09/2025 14:33

Thanks for the new thread, hope tax in the form of my peacock feather dress that I promised a photo of is acceptable. DH and I are wondering if it is worth writing to the Justice Secretary about Connolly appearing at the Reform conference, as she is out on licence and it may be in breach of that.

That’s lovely @Evenstar
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if she’s in breach of her licence, but I imagine recalling her would cause a shit storm of epic proportions. Two tier justice, eh?

Good job the Government are already working on policies related to this.

Women’s Justice Board begins plans to send fewer women to prison

Cutting crime and reducing the number of vulnerable women being sent to prison is top of the agenda at the first meeting of the Women’s Justice Board.

I see that now there is no more fun to be had with RaynOr, MN has swiftly moved back to Lammy bashing.

Yep. Very noticeable.

itsgettingweird · 07/09/2025 14:42

That dress is lovely. Also love the hair piece and the green looks great with your hair colour.

ilovesooty · 07/09/2025 14:44

Lucy Connelly should be recalled, whatever shit storm it causes.

PandoraSocks · 07/09/2025 14:46

Lovely dress and hair @Evenstar

I think it would be a mistake. Let her have her few days of attention. She will be discarded by Farage and YL etc. as soon as she has outlived her use.

PandoraSocks · 07/09/2025 14:52

Ooh, we are a few minutes away from the emergency alert test.

cardibach · 07/09/2025 14:54

Wonder if the government has decided I’m worth saving this time. I’m due to leave to go and reprise Westminster Evensong at our rehearsal church so shall wait and see before getting ready. Mine didn’t go off last time.

Well circulated Written warning for first breach

Then bang the Con up again if there's a second breach

I don't think Starmer can ignore her thumbing her nose at the MOJ

Evenstar · 07/09/2025 14:57

I didn’t get one last time either

This seems a reasonable approach.

placemats · 07/09/2025 14:58

I have 4g+ so should receive the alert. Technically perhaps LC is in breach of her licence. Those prisoners currently on licence would probably be thinking that Reform are embracing two tier justice.

I agree we need as a country to cut reoffending and explore more ways to do this
Surely, however, this should be for all and should not be a sex prioritised provision especially as the male population are the main offenders

I do not agree that if someone commits a crime they should not be treated equally in terms of ‘punishment’.

I appreciate the dilemma if a single mother has children but this is already taken into account in lesser cases.

Men can equally be a single parent and putting a father in prison can equally affect a family with children

placemats · 07/09/2025 15:02

All done and dusted with the alert. Cheshire East.

cardibach · 07/09/2025 15:02

Well, the government have decided I’m worth saving after all. Alarm went off.

PickAChew · 07/09/2025 15:03

I just got mine!

Gorgeous hair and dress, @Evenstar -need to go and tame my bird's nest into submission. It's objecting to the humidity.

Got it here.

I agree. We should be putting far fewer people in prison. All it does it make better criminals.

I too am worth saving, apparently. That might be because I've made fabulous flapjacks today though. I still feel like death, but no stupid virus is going to defeat me.
