What did you eat today?

A few months ago there was a really fun series of threads where people listed what they’d eaten that day (and had a general chat).

I really enjoyed it but can’t find it anymore so I thought I’d start one.

It was really interesting and varied (it’s not a weight loss or judgy thread- unless the judgement is ‘that sounds delicious, what’s the recipe/where did you buy it?’). Everyone is welcome!

Today I’ve had:
Breakfast- Scrambled eggs, sautéed veg (tomatoes, red onion, spinach, mushrooms). And tea with milk.

Snack- Americano with milk

Lunch- Chicken salad (chicken breast, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, avocado, sesame dressing).
Followed by low fat Greek yoghurt with peanut butter, strawberries, nectarine and blueberries.

Dinner- Will be roasted salmon, homemade potato wedges, roasted courgette/tomato/onion/fennel.
Followed by a watermelon and lime ice lolly (I make my own so it’s just fruit).

I’ve just started weight watchers so it’s not the most exciting day (I’ve also tried to cut out UPFs as much as possible and use my points on high fat whole foods like avocado and nuts). I’m looking forward to living vicariously through other people’s treats!

It’s too hot for me today all I want to eat is Calippos but so far I have had

weetabix
toasted bagel
tuna salad

(plus four Calippos)

I always lose my appetite in hot weather, have had to skip my usual gym session partly because of heat and partly because I haven’t eaten well enough to fuel it.

Sheknowsaboutme · 12/07/2025 17:32

I cant eat much in this awful heat.

Breakfast-had 2 coffees and 2 slices toast with homemade blackcurrant jam

lunch-scrambled eggs (3 eggs) and 1 slice of sourdough. Fab lolly

then chicken chow mein from the takeout at 7. Ill eat half and leave the rest for tomorrow.

im filling up on water, drank loads today.

keep hydrated ladies!

We went to Dishoom for breakfast today (Indian all-day dining chain for anyone who doesn't know) where I had the parsi omelette and DH had a thing called a wrestlers naan (basically a full English in a naan, with chilli) which made him very happy.

Then for dinner a MN massive salad (beetroot/feta/tomatoes/leaves etc) with outlying bits and pieces. Then a huge slab of cake for pudding.

Lunch was a rocket lollie, calypso orange push up and more iced coffee.

Dinner was a big yogurt with a tonne of strawberries and lemon barley water over ice.

Dinner - Pie, chips, curry sauce & a can of coke from the chippy

Tiredofwhataboutery · 12/07/2025 21:26

Mines is not exciting but avocado on seeded sourdough. Trying to reduce bread so one massive avocado loaded on one slice. Had an ice cream with dc for elevenses. A yo sushi box for lunch and some cherries and crisps with a coffee (carrier bag picnic where we all go to supermarket and choose a meal deal). Tea is a really boring salad of iceberg, chicken breast and dressing. I made lots of interesting bits and the kids made their own wraps and that was all that was left. May hsve a glass of something nice whilst sorting laundry.

MumbleJumble123 · 15/07/2025 10:08

Sorry I didn’t come back and post sooner- things have been busy with the kids!
All the food sounds so delicious and I’ve been really inspired by some of the meals (a couple have made it onto my meal planner for next week, and some have made it into my ‘meal ideas’ list for when I meet my target weight and relax my diet).

Yesterday I had:
Breakfast: Plain fat free yogurt, peanut butter, banana, berries. Iced Americano with a splash of milk.

Lunch: Salmon salad (tomato, cucumber, avocado, lettuce, seeds). With pineapple and mango for pudding.

Dinner: These chicken wraps (Lemongrass chicken wraps). Delicious and I highly recommend but I’d probably just grilled the chicken next time and add a tiny bit of grated ginger to the sauce. Poaching in aromatics didn’t make enough difference to the flavor to be worth the additional faff (it was otherwise a very quick and easy dinner). I also added some cucumber as well as the carrot which worked well.

Today:
Breakfast: Iced Americano with a splash of milk (I was in a rush and wasn’t hungry).

Snack: Apple with peanut butter.

Lunch will be: Chicken salad (leftover chicken, lettuce, cucumber, avocado, sesame dressing).
Carrot and coriander soup with ginger, garlic and chili.

Dinner will be: Preserved lemon tagine (This NYT recipe is perfection) with griddled asparagus, courgette and fennel.
Fat-free yoghurt, flaked almonds and apricots for pudding.

Hackney gelato is so good, it’s my favourite ice cream that’s available in the supermarket- I love that the pistachio one is slightly salty and not just sweet!
Have you tried the dark chocolate sorbet, I’m not normally a chocolate ice-cream fan but it’s absolutely delicious.

Have ADHD and a very weird food schedule, I often only eat once a day. But I love cooking and eating.

On the 12 I didn't eat, it was too hot for me!

On the Sunday I had homemade frozen potato wedges (that came out much nicer than the fresh ones! I'll have to do that again) topped with a whole ball of fresh mozzarella, topped with a whole homemade pre frozen tub of veggie chilli topped with a whole avocado. It was epic and made me so happy. Then I had an over ripe nectarine. Then I had a nap 🤣

Yesterday I had a pork chop with mushrooms and tomatoes roasted in the oven for half an hour with a 2 egg cheese omelette. This was followed by 1/4 of a homemade victoria sponge with half a punnet of strawberries and some clotted cream.

Today I've just put some frozen homemade bean enchiladas in the oven. I've got 2 more nectarines to eat that are very squishy and need to be eaten today.

I batch cook a lot, but I'm trying to run the freezer down so I can fill it with the hackney gelato! Ive got the banana pecan and chocolate hazelnut so far and they're amazing.
