What did you eat today?

A few months ago there was a really fun series of threads where people listed what they’d eaten that day (and had a general chat).

I really enjoyed it but can’t find it anymore so I thought I’d start one.

It was really interesting and varied (it’s not a weight loss or judgy thread- unless the judgement is ‘that sounds delicious, what’s the recipe/where did you buy it?’). Everyone is welcome!

Today I’ve had:
Breakfast- Scrambled eggs, sautéed veg (tomatoes, red onion, spinach, mushrooms). And tea with milk.

Snack- Americano with milk

Lunch- Chicken salad (chicken breast, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, avocado, sesame dressing).
Followed by low fat Greek yoghurt with peanut butter, strawberries, nectarine and blueberries.

Dinner- Will be roasted salmon, homemade potato wedges, roasted courgette/tomato/onion/fennel.
Followed by a watermelon and lime ice lolly (I make my own so it’s just fruit).

I’ve just started weight watchers so it’s not the most exciting day (I’ve also tried to cut out UPFs as much as possible and use my points on high fat whole foods like avocado and nuts). I’m looking forward to living vicariously through other people’s treats!

I’ve had a piece of toast brown bread with jam, and a total yogurt with pomegranate, plus a few gallons of water and 2 black coffees.

This is my new life until I have my gallbladder surgery. I’m forcing myself to eat as Im terrified of the pain and I have a zero fat 25+ days ahead of me to avoid another flare pre surgery.

I think post surgery I’ll carry on as well a donated to loose some weight, I do eat lots of fats but mostly nuts and avocados and what’s considered good fats but my gallbladder has had enough and jammed a stone in a duct so she is being evicted.

I really hope your surgery goes well. It’s so hard having a medically restricted diet, especially when it also includes avoiding healthy foods.
If it helps then I find that soups work really well being completely fat free (if you add some potato or cannellini beans before blending then it makes it ‘creamy’).

All healthy yeah?

Then I caved and had a bag of Reese's peanut butter cups and a couple of red wine&tonic while relaxing in the sun

MixedMetals · 12/07/2025 15:59

For lunch I had some baguette with ham and salad. I've just had a mars ice cream. Dinner is going to be peri peri chicken, flatbreads and salad. Pretty boring but I'm going through a phase right now where I just can't be arsed with food so long as it is quick, easy and relatively healthy it will do.

CordeliaNaismithVorkosigan · 12/07/2025 16:18

Two mini Magnums and some sushi so far, plus coffee and cherries. We’re going out for dinner and the theatre tonight so will have something more substantial then.

@camshaft mcmuffins are gorgeous, you should relax and be happy with your wise decision

zingally · 12/07/2025 16:43

For breakfast, 3 soft boiled eggs and 2 slices of buttered toast. Wouldn't normally have that much, but I knew I had a very busy, manual work day ahead, so wanted to fuel up.
One the way to said busy day, I had a small iced caramel latte.
For lunch I had a cheese sandwich, 2 babybel lights and a bag of crisps.

It'll be an easy tea later. I got a portion of corned beef hash out of the freezer earlier, and will have that with gravy and some veg.

Darkling1 · 12/07/2025 16:52

I skipped breakfast, but had four slices of leftover Domino’s for lunch. I’ve had some raisins and a pack of salt and vinegar Snack a Jacks.

We’re going to have stir fry for dinner with noodles, sugar snap peas, tenderstem broccoli, carrots, beansprouts and cabbage. Soy sauce, too.

Mumoftwoboysaged4and5 · 12/07/2025 16:57

Breakfast: birthday cake
lunch: sausage bap
early dinner: 1/2 pizza

In fairness I had a children’s party this morning and now I’m in softplay hell so food is whatever is quickest and easiest. I’ll try to eat a vegetable tomorrow. 😃

Cold chicken and tomato for lunch.
Can't decide for dinner but it will finish with a yogurt

Started17June2025 · 12/07/2025 17:09

No breakfast, just coffee.

Lunch - largeish portion of cottage cheese and huge salad. Packet of skips.

Snack - a yoghurt with chia and flaxseed and a scoop of protein powder in water.

Dinner (about to go cook it) - fishfingers, new potatoes and 2 x veg.

I think I'll have about 300 calories left (I'm on 1400 a day) so will eat that in fruit and peanut butter this evening 😁

Mydahliasareshit · 12/07/2025 17:13

Coffee in the morning.
Olives, a bit of cheddar cubed, and some Parma ham.
Cold pinot noir.
Probably some overnight oats and blueberries before bed once it's cooler.
