What did you eat today?

MumbleJumble123 · 12/07/2025 12:39

A few months ago there was a really fun series of threads where people listed what they’d eaten that day (and had a general chat).

I really enjoyed it but can’t find it anymore so I thought I’d start one.

It was really interesting and varied (it’s not a weight loss or judgy thread- unless the judgement is ‘that sounds delicious, what’s the recipe/where did you buy it?’). Everyone is welcome!

Today I’ve had:
Breakfast- Scrambled eggs, sautéed veg (tomatoes, red onion, spinach, mushrooms). And tea with milk.

Snack- Americano with milk

Lunch- Chicken salad (chicken breast, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, avocado, sesame dressing).
Followed by low fat Greek yoghurt with peanut butter, strawberries, nectarine and blueberries.

Dinner- Will be roasted salmon, homemade potato wedges, roasted courgette/tomato/onion/fennel.
Followed by a watermelon and lime ice lolly (I make my own so it’s just fruit).

I’ve just started weight watchers so it’s not the most exciting day (I’ve also tried to cut out UPFs as much as possible and use my points on high fat whole foods like avocado and nuts). I’m looking forward to living vicariously through other people’s treats!

Two Weetabix
two coffees
six cheese biscuits and chilli cheese dip
salmon, chips and peas
five chocolate biscuits
glass of milk

Someone asked about BMI - mine is 22, healthy …surprisingly 😳

roshi42 · 15/07/2025 22:29

Lol, today I’ve had half a packet of hobnobs and a filet o fish 😅 Not a usual day!!

camshaft · 16/07/2025 07:22

Yesterday I had

2 crumpets with peanut butter
3 slices of left over pizza (chicken and sweet corn)
dairylea dunker
chocolate digestive
blue ribband
weetabix with milk

not enough protein and no fruit or veg - appalling behaviour but I comfort eat when stressed and work is stressing me out at the min.

today will be a better day!

I am 11 stone, bmi just under 25.

Today will be:
Cranberry and walnut porridge, some cherries

Cinnamon-raisin wholemeal soda bread, piece of cheese, two big tomatoes and an apple

Vegetable (courgette, onion, carrot, red peppers and kidney beans) broth thing with wholemeal pasta, the end of the jelly (gooseberry from the allotment)

Back into eating better!

2 ryvita
2 eggs scrambled
11 blackberries
cream
packet of walkers
2 glasses of Chenin Blanc.

Chenin Blanc is my absolute favourite wine, I’m going out with a friend for drinks tonight and I plan on having a glass with loads of ice (because I’m a heathen 😂)

@MixedMetals have you found any electrolytes that taste good. I suspect they might help with my migraines but I haven’t found any I like

@MrsSethGecko I’m envious of your gooseberries. I took my toddler to ‘pick your own’ planning to make a crumble with them. Apparently he likes them as they are and keeps asking to have them as his snack 🤷🏻‍♀️.
I’m about to make your soda bread recipe this afternoon (I have a sad sourdough starter that I’ve been trying to cultivate since cutting down on UPFs but it’s not looking great so the soda bread is a welcome alternative).

I’ve had a bowl of shreddies (well m&s version) with milk and sugar.

lunch I will probably have some cous cous and air fryer halloumi.

dinner is jacket potatoes with beans.

MumbleJumble123 · 16/07/2025 09:50

My meals/snacks for today are:

Breakfast: scrambled eggs, mushrooms, avocado, tomato. Americano with skimmed milk. Apple

Lunch will be: salmon salad with sesame dressing (plus the other half of the avocado, cucumber and lettuce). Carrot and coriander soup.

Dinner will be: Seabass with lemon and caper sauce, mashed potatoes (with minimal butter sadly), garlic sautéed green beans, fennel and spinach.

I also did my couch to 5k run today (it’s the furthest I’ve ever got with the program and the first time I’ve actually enjoyed a run). So had a high protein, low fat yoghurt drink afterwards (plain because the flavoured ones were all full of sugar or sweetener/emulsifier/preservatives etc).
It was absolutely revolting (luckily I only bought one to try it) so I’m going back to my usual snack of fat free yogurt with a spoon of peanut butter and some banana and berries.

Sounds good, I might put halloumi and roasted veg cous cous on my meal plan for next week (I love it but somehow always forget to make it).

Breakfast: Natural yogurt with granola, peanut butter, chia seed and banana. Pro Biotic Drink, coffee and orange juice

Lunch: Chicken salad sandwich, Apple

Dinner: Homemade chicken satay skewers with rice and greens

around 1.5 litres water

edited to add I’ve no idea of my weight but I have put on weight due to a stressful few years and my size 12 getting very tight! Using these few weeks off to try and get back om
track!

blizymitzy · 16/07/2025 09:55

Oh I love these threads and it makes me want to eat well as I’m posting it for others to see!
yesterday was a very busy day so I grabbed food on the go .

toast with butter and bovril

ham and mustard mayo sandwich ( M&S) salt and vinegar crisps

homemade pasta salad with tuna and sweetcorn.
one cappuccino and a little water but definitely need to drink more water today and eat more fruit/ veggies.

laddersandsnakes12 · 16/07/2025 10:45

Today so far and planned:
breakfast - strong coffee with gingerbread syrup, Greek yogurt, grapes, some rhubarb compote and a blueberry muffin.

lunch: I’m leaning towards some chicken noodles, crisps and an apple.

snack: son is on his summer holiday now, so we’ll make some cinnamon rolls as it’s rainy here - need an indoor activity. So no doubt I’ll have one of those this afternoon.

Dinner: beef meatballs and pasta with a tomato, garlic and basil sauce. Maybe a couple of glasses of wine tonight as well.

FurForksSake · 16/07/2025 11:00

Summer holidays start here next week, I’m getting the kids to do a tonne of baking for the freezer on Saturday so they have snacks all summer long. School cake, fruit crumble bars, three types of cookies, millionaires shortbread, dinky scones, almond slices and chocolate swirls. I’ll cut everything (apart from scones and swirls), open freeze and then move to bags. They can then go and get a sweet treat or two out each morning for the afternoon. We are also going to attempt to make some pretzel fudge bites, but they won’t go in the freezer.

That’s amazing, they all sound delicious! Can I send my kids over too 😂

@laddersandsnakes12 homemade cinnamon rolls are the best but so much effort. I made them once (for an ex who definitely didn’t deserve the effort 😂), but maybe over the summer I’ll make them again.

@blizymitzy I love these threads too. The diet ones are always a bit boring and get a bit judgy but I love the fun ones where everyone just has normal and varied diets. I do find it keeps me accountable if I have to write it down though!

@MrsSethGecko the bread baking went well (or as well as any baking can go with a three year old). Thank you for the recipe:

Me and dd (20) have been feeling unwell today so I made a big pan of our go to comfort food. It's just a veg soup made with red lentils, leek, onion, swede, celery, stock and lots of carrots.
It hit the spot!

That sounds so good!

camshaft · 16/07/2025 18:33

Small pack of fridge raiders
dairylea dunker
1/2 jacket potato with cheese and beans
1 x sausage

dehating what to have for dinner. Need some veg!

Chelsea26 · 16/07/2025 19:03

Black coffee

wholemeal pitta bread and taramsalata
half a beef tomato and half a burrata

dinner will be chilli fries with chilli defrosted from the freezer, curly fries and cheese melted on top with raw onion, sour cream and American mustard sprinkled on top.

I’ve had a terrible day so I’m hoping dinner will cheer me up a bit. If it doesn’t work I’ve got chocolate in the fridge…

troppibambini6 · 16/07/2025 19:11

Protein bar
Greek yogurt with a spoon of granola
sourdough sandwich with ham, tomato and pink pickled onions (can’t stop eating these!)
mango yogurt
pickled onions space raiders
greek yogurt with strawberries
malted milk biscuit

FurForksSake · 16/07/2025 19:17

Jacket potato was good, but I’ve lost the ability to make the skins crispy. I can’t stand for longer than a few minutes so these got thrown in the air fryer due to ease.

Whoooo · 16/07/2025 19:18

Bfast: avocado and poached egg on toast and a
Cappuccino

Lunch: 2 m&s sausage rolls

Snack: handful of pringles and some hotel chocolat chocolates

Dinner: an aldi ice cream 😫

Drinks water, sparkly water

I hate the heat and cant bear to cook when its so warm. It makes me feel really ill.

So, not a great day but it could be worse I guess!

maliafawn · 16/07/2025 19:19

Costa machine hot chocolate on the way to the vets
