Glastonbury-who’s left to do the Legends slot?

Who is left, that is a legend, has enough absolute bangers to sing along to, doesn’t take themselves too seriously, is maybe a little camp(in the glam, fun sense)and is still alive (and is capable of singing still)? All the ones I can think of have either done it, are dead or are more headliner fodder. The only ones I can think of are Blondie and Neil Diamond?
And given that most legends are now ex legends, who would be your dream Legend?

Talking Heads yass !!

Oh yes. But I don't think they would get back together. Although he has since admitted he was a complete arse at the time, so maybe they'd forgive him.

Aha

Except Morten's voice has been affected by his Parkinson's treatment.

SkaterGrrrrl · 02/07/2025 23:10

Jocelyn Brown

Shinyandnew1 · 02/07/2025 23:10

Duran Duran would be amazing.

Simple Minds. Don’t You Forget About Me would be ace.

U2 would put on a show.

I'm seeing Simple Minds this weekend

TheChosenTwo · 02/07/2025 23:11

Billy Ocean for me please! Unless he’s already been on it - don’t really watch it so not sure but he’s awesome live.

RebeccaDecember · 02/07/2025 23:12

Metallica - that would wake everyone up on a Sunday afternoon..

RebeccaDecember · 02/07/2025 23:13

Oh also, maybe The Pixies!

BitOutOfPractice · 02/07/2025 23:13

Billy Joel

CaseStudyResearch · 02/07/2025 23:13

A lot of those mentioned have either been in the Legends slot already, or have headlined in the past ten years.

Robbie Williams
Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood together would headline)
Bryan Adams
Sting
Annie Lennox
Billy Joel

John Fogerty would have been fantastic in it, but played an earlier slot this year. Status Quo pre-retirement are the right sort of level. Hall & Oates if they didn’t hate each other.

sandgrown · 02/07/2025 23:20

Stevie Wonder or Billy Joel

JBJ · 02/07/2025 23:25

Guns N Roses headlined a couple of years ago, so I can’t imagine them doing the legends slot just yet. I don’t think Bon Jovi are likely to either as they haven’t toured for years due to Jon’s voice and they don’t tend to do festivals. I’d love to see Fleetwood Mac or Madonna.

greatvisuals · 02/07/2025 23:25

Guns and Roses played Glastonbury Pyramid last year.

Ladyglittersparkleseriously · 02/07/2025 23:26

Madness?

shellyleppard · 02/07/2025 23:27

Def leppard
bon Jovi
Elbow ❤️❤️❤️❤️

NotoriousRhubarb · 02/07/2025 23:31

I just saw Duran Duran and despite having been very sneery about them in the 80s, it was a great gig. How can Simon Le Bon be 67?

Giggorata · 02/07/2025 23:31

Tom Waits

Weird Al

Queen is not Queen without Freddie imo. It’s just Brian, Roger and that excuse for a vocalist. 😭

Brian has said Queen would never play Glasto after his spat with Michael Evis over badger culling

suki1964 · 02/07/2025 23:40

ELO - esp as they are doing their final ever tour

Barbara Striasand - would be amazing

Billy Idol

INXs

MrsMoastyToasty · 02/07/2025 23:41

Suzi Quatro
The Wurzels (got to have a west country band for a west country festival).

RubieChewsDay · 02/07/2025 23:45

Duran Duran would be amazing.

Agreed, I would love this and they still tour so definitely possible.

piperatthegates · 02/07/2025 23:49

Frankie Valli would be amazing in the legends slot
Possibly Dave Gilmour or Roger Waters
Tom Jones

Elliania · 02/07/2025 23:50

Iron Maiden have always said they'd never play Glastonbury so I'd probably rule them out.

Sting would be cool as would Roger Waters - he's great live.

IchiNiSanShiGo · 02/07/2025 23:53

Kylie
Robbie
Cher
Tom Jones
Pet Shop Boys
Erasure
Blondie

MyNameIsAlexDrake · 03/07/2025 00:01

Billy Ocean - he is still incredible live now and a huge backlog of songs.
Roxy Music would be great too.
Rick Astley - but only if he did The Smiths again ;-)
