Glastonbury-who’s left to do the Legends slot?

Who is left, that is a legend, has enough absolute bangers to sing along to, doesn’t take themselves too seriously, is maybe a little camp(in the glam, fun sense)and is still alive (and is capable of singing still)? All the ones I can think of have either done it, are dead or are more headliner fodder. The only ones I can think of are Blondie and Neil Diamond?
And given that most legends are now ex legends, who would be your dream Legend?

Blondie did it I think, perhaps wasn’t the legends slot.

i think if they could get a few of them, a stock aitkin and waterman artists together would be great, few eat then altogether. Some have toured together as 80’s legends type shows. Could do similar with other eras, artists not big enough to do it alone but together would be great.

As an individual artist - human league would be my dream if I was going

Talkinpeace · 02/07/2025 22:43

Cher - not worth the risk after Diana Ross
Elton - recent years
Blondie - recent years
Maria - see Cher
Pink - see Elton

Has Bruce Springsteen done it?

iI'd LOVE Madonna to do it, I'm sure she's been asked.

Depeche Mode?

Talkinpeace · 02/07/2025 22:44

Kate Bush
Fleetwood Mac
Gun's & Roses
Diana Ross
Adele
Cindi Lauper

Kate and FM are more headliners (but can’t see Kate doing it at all)
Diana Ross was last time(and was awful)
GnR? Would they not think they should be headliners? Are they singalongy enough?(not for me, but that’s just my taste)
Maybe Adele or CL, but does Cyndi have 90 mins of hits?
Doubt Mozzer would get asked(but would be wild)
Does Streisand still perform?
And prob not Aha given Morten’s health.

Queen is not Queen without Freddie imo. It’s just Brian, Roger and that excuse for a vocalist. 😭

Bob Dylan is the only other one left, I think?

sparrowflewdown · 02/07/2025 22:50

The Beach Boys although it would only be Mike Love and Bruce Johnstone sadly.

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 02/07/2025 22:52

Loads of these bands(whilst huge and amazing) lack the self deprecation needed for the legends slot, they need to be able to take the piss out of themselves a bit, get everyone up in their sequins and costumes, singing along and dancing. James Taylor for example, doesn’t scream that.
DH said not fucking Supertramp, one of the few bands he’s walked out of for being pretentious, up themselves and generally crap.
