Glastonbury-who’s left to do the Legends slot?

Who is left, that is a legend, has enough absolute bangers to sing along to, doesn’t take themselves too seriously, is maybe a little camp(in the glam, fun sense)and is still alive (and is capable of singing still)? All the ones I can think of have either done it, are dead or are more headliner fodder. The only ones I can think of are Blondie and Neil Diamond?
And given that most legends are now ex legends, who would be your dream Legend?

Duran Duran would be fab.

Cher
Take That inc Robbie

I would love to see Madonna at Glastonbury but if she ever did it (which I doubt), she would want top headliner.

GrimDamnFanjo · 02/07/2025 22:54

ABBA!

MotherFlumper · 02/07/2025 22:54

Duran Duran and Depeche Mode would be amazing. Strong, well known back catalogue and still a strong following for both.

Maybe Erasure, OMD, ELO, Janet Jackson?

Queen is not Queen without Freddie imo. It’s just Brian, Roger and that excuse for a vocalist. 😭

💯

BlueEyedBogWitch · 02/07/2025 22:55

The Pet Shop Boys!

She’s not great anymore either.

Kimwestonhelpless · 02/07/2025 22:56

Selector

BlueEyedBogWitch · 02/07/2025 22:56

Simple Minds. Don’t You Forget About Me would be ace.

U2 would put on a show.

BlueEyedBogWitch · 02/07/2025 22:57

Spandau Ballet, but they all hate each other.

Boy George and Culture Club.

Shame he's such a dick.

He would be good, but yes he is a dick.

BlueEyedBogWitch · 02/07/2025 22:58

Kimwestonhelpless · 02/07/2025 22:58

Would Pink classify or no?

would they re do any of them, Kylie or Elton John if so.

What about Rhianna?

Pink or Rihanna?! Christ I hope not! Aren’t the legends supposed to be, I don’t know, good?!

BlueEyedBogWitch · 02/07/2025 23:02

Bryan Adams.
Girls Aloud.

GinToBegin · 02/07/2025 23:04

Alison Moyet would be my first pick. Fantastic voice and a terrific body of work to draw from.

Other than AM…
Bananarama
Cher
Roxy Music
Erasure
Garbage
Robbie Williams
Eurythmics
Fleetwood Mac
Human League
Chaka Khan

RedBeech · 02/07/2025 23:04

I thought Lulu was doing a bloody good audition for it during her guest spot with Rod.

The real legend would be Kate Bush.
Maybe Paul Simon or Robert Plant (have they done it?) Or Suzanne Vega - she can still sing so beautifully.

RedBeech · 02/07/2025 23:05

Pet Shop Boys?

PurplePi · 02/07/2025 23:05

Going with the 80s theme, Id love to see OMD or Marc Almond. Both put on the kind of show that would work well in that slot.

GrimDamnFanjo · 02/07/2025 22:54

ABBA!

Brilliant idea. I wonder if they would...

Chumpfriend · 02/07/2025 23:06

Mick Hucknall was laying his claim I felt. Some tunes tbf.

Edited to add - definitely old enough 😂
